The Bachelorette finale begins with Jesse Palmer saying that they were doubling their chances for a happy ending by having two Bachelorettes, but that just didn’t happen. This season really has been brutal for Gabby and Rachel, with more scandal and betrayal than love. Maybe Tino can convince Rachel that his indiscretions were just a momentary lapse in judgment. And, maybe Erich can explain his the damaging text messages he sent to his girlfriend a few days before stepping out of the limo meant nothing.
There is Bachelor Nation royalty in the house, including Grandpa John. Gabby and Rachel are invited to the stage. The two have come such a long way and can’t wait for it to be over.
Back to Mexico, Gabby is upset because Erich said that he wants to leave there and date her. She knows 100% that they should be together, she needs to show her that he wants to be with her. She goes to his room and tells him that they need to talk. He says if she walks away, he would be destroyed. He thinks what they have is genuinely real and he wasn’t ready for it, but he wants it to work. She wants to leave there engaged and she only wants it if it is with Erich. They realize how much they love each other and he knows where her heart stands, but it is scary because it could be taken away at any second.
Rachel found that it was very emotional when she and Aven broke up, but at the end of the day, she knows where her heart is and it is with Tino. She can’t wait to tell him that he is the only one there, she is really hopeful, excited, and nervous. She hopes she and Tino are on the same page. He tells her that her family was so amazing, that he walked away on a pretty high night. She agrees that it could not have gone better. She reveals to him that he is the only one there, it is him. He would bet everything he has that he and Rachel are forever. She trusts him, he told her that he was ready for a proposal.
Gabby and Rachel sit down to talk to each other, Rachel tells her that Tino is the only way there and it is insane to feel 100% chosen, he makes her want to be better, he is so selfless and her perfect match and she has no doubts. Gabby tells her that Erich is the only one there, he has fought for her time and time again, and she has had nobody love her to like him. He didn’t really say he was going to propose, but she hopes so. Rachel says she is so ready and she has no doubts. Gabby says she feels like all her dreams are coming true, this is so huge.
Gabby and Rachel are telling each other how happy they are for one another. The next day, Rachel wakes up so lucky, she has been reflecting on how far she came and is so excited. She truly feels like Tino is the man of her dream and this is the day she has been waiting for her entire life. She gave him her first rose and she now gets to give him her last one. He never gave her any reason to doubt him, but no matter what you still always have that doubt. Tino walks up, he is dressed to the nines, and he tells Jesse that he just wants to get this right. Rachel is scared, she is so in love with Tino and there is nobody else for her. Tino walks up to Rachel, he tells her that she looks unbelievable and he is so excited.
She tells him that she is so nervous, this doesn’t feel real, but thinking about night one, his charm and humor were just undeniable. She has never met anyone like him, gentle and supportive, and makes her want to be a better person every day. She is so madly in love with him and cannot wait to spend the rest of her life with him. Tino lets out a sigh, he says he knows she has been blindsided in the past and he doesn’t want to break her heart but there is something that he has to say. He says this is never going away. The first night he was more nervous than he was his whole life. He says he is not the most spiritual guy, but this journey has made him believe in faith. He loves her compassion, wit, and charm, and makes him fall in love with her every time he sees her. He loves her so much and will love her to the end of time. He gets down on one knee, pulls out the ring, and asks her to marry him. She says yes. She gives him the final rose.
This is not where Rachel’s story ends. Rachel says that she truly felt like she found her person, she was done and excited to leave Mexico for the hope of the future. It was really great for a while, there are natural growing pains but they went through a difficult time. She is not saying she is perfect, but they definitely had some difficulties. She always tried and she just wanted someone who tired as well. She didn’t feel support from him, they took time, and tried to move forward she thought things were going well, but it didn’t turn out that way. Tino brought concerns about past relationships and things coming to life. In the end, he cheated on her. She says she is not ok. It is heartbreaking, this is the person she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with. She says it is broken trust and it is heartbreaking. She confronted Tino to talk about this in person and it was rough.
Rachel is going to speak to Tino for the first time since he told her that he cheated on her. She really feels like she doesn’t know the full truth. She calls Gabby and tells her, she wants some insight into what she thinks. She says she didn’t ever expect it from him. Rachel is not wearing her ring. She tells Gabby that so many things tumbled into a big thing and he had the time to tell her. And, the only thing he cares about is how he looks. He was sorry that he told her but didn’t say he was sorry he did it.
Gabby leaves, and Tino arrives. They sit down, feet away from each other. He tells her to go first. She tells him to. He says he messed up, and the moment he did, he knew he was meant to be with her. He tried to get past it, then he asks her what she want to know. She says everything. He says there was a girl, before the show, who didn’t go on a date. The show ends, nothing comes of it, then they had premiere week where he called her and he heard some stuff, and she said she doesn’t know how things are going to work, she can’t put effort into it, jokingly she said he could be the next Bachelor. She said she was giving back to the ring, she didn’t want to go to therapy and talk to anyone about this. She say they were in a bad place. But they never once said they were broken up.
She says she didn’t say she was giving him his ring back. She says he is trying to say that what he did was because they were in a bad place. He says he doesn’t want to keep circling back, but if she already made up her mind. She says he is sorry because he didn’t want to get caught. He says it was a one-time mistake, then he knew he wanted to be with her. He says it was just a kiss, and she says she highly doubts that. She wants a lot of answers before they can come to any kind of conclusion. He gets up and walks out, saying he needs a second.
He thinks this is nothing more than her trying to make him look bad, crucifying him. He returns to speak to her and wants to know what she wants. She wants the truth and she doesn’t want him to turn it on her. He says he was under the impression that they were pretty much done. He steps out again and calls someone. Rachel goes outside, he says he will come back inside. She reminds him that he got on one knee and proposed to her, doesn’t he remember that? He says he loves her and he panicked, he thought he was going to lose her, he is sorry and he will spend the rest of his life proving it to her. He swears, he just wants her. She stands up, and says she is done, she hands him the ring and says he is done. He says he is sorry that he let her down and leaves.
Back in the studio, Rachel tells Jesse that it has been hard. Her parents are there and her father says they are there to support her. Kaitlyn Bristowe is there and she says she is so fired up for her, she owes him nothing and she is so proud of her. Tino sent her a letter, claiming responsibility and saying he is sorry. Tino is backstage and Rachel says she is ready to speak to him.
Tino is on stage, Jesse thanks him for being there. Tino starts by saying he is sorry, his actions are on him, not on her. He was not trying to put it on him, he thought she was looking for why it happened. He says when they first got engaged, everything was great. Weeks leading into the episodes airing, it got hard and he cannot imagine what she went through. He says she is amazing and didn’t deserve what she went through. He says again that this is all on him, but she is very argumentative and the conversation is going nowhere.
She says there are personal things that led the to being in a mad place. When she said she cannot wear the ring, he was devastated and he let his ego take over his actions. She says they were never on a break, they were giving each some time. He apologizes again, and he wishes he had taken therapy seriously before they had a hard time. She says there is no excuse for what he did and he broke her heart. He understands that she is really hurt, but she said that if they broke up she wasn’t going to wear the ring. He says he was trying so hard, when they landed at she was giving the ring back, he thought she was checking out. She says they both know what happened and what he did is not forgivable. Jesse says there is somebody there tonight and he has demanded that he speak to Rachel. Aven comes out on stage. Aven says this is tough and she doesn’t deserve this and he wants her to get out of there with him and catch up. She says she would love nothing more and walks over and gives Aven a big hug.
Jesse is sitting down with Gabby, time to go back to Mexico and see how things went with her. The two meet at the altar, she says that when she first saw him her heart skipped a beat, her stmach was dancing and she was nervous, he reminded her of a love that she only ever had known in her dreams. He means the world to her, and the last time they were together it was so real. She says she thought he was too good to be true, but now she knows he is good, but also true. He lets out a sigh, says he had a lot to say, the last time they saw each other it was hard, and they are waiting for this to be real.
He didn’t think he could measure up, and she deserves someone that will be there for her 100% and he wants to be that person. He thinks she brings out the best in him, the stars aligned for him to be there, it was fate. Their connection is insane, but when he met her he was 100% himself, like he really knew her for years. He met his soulmate. The way she looks at him makes him feel like he is the only person in the world and he will fight every day to keep that feeling. He says it is her and him until the wheels fall off, he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. He reaches in his pocket, takes out the ring, gets down on one knee and proposes to her. She gives him the final rose. He asks her if he can have her phone number. Not everything has been roses between the two since they got engaged.
Erich comes on stage to join Gabby, he says it was never super easy and to watch it back, he was tearing up. He says they worked hard to have their happy ending. Gabby says she couldn’t believe she was looking into someone’s eyes who she wanted to be with. Erich says everything moved really quickly, but his emotions were running high and he wanted them to be on the same page and have a happy ending. Gabby says she didn’t know what was going to happen, If he was going to propose, but she gave her whole heart to her. Grandpa John and Aunt Julie is in the audience. Jesse calls Grandpa John a legend, he asks him if he would consider being the Bachelor and Grandpa John says no. Gabby says definitely not.
Gabby says it was hard to be in a bubble, not being able to be public and they are not done learning about each other. Jesse says there was a revelation recently on social media where an ex-girlfriend of Erich’s said that he only broke up with her to have an opportunity to be on the show. Erich says he met this girl a month before the show and he realized there wasn’t a connection, he led her on and understands her reaction.
He owns it and says he doesn’t have any hard feelings for this girl. Jesse says that she released some text messages saying that he didn’t believe the show was real but thought he could get a career out of it. Erich says he led her on and used the show as a way not to confront her. He came into this to pass night one and see what happens. But he met Gabby on the first night and everything changed. He says he would change anything but he is sorry for the beginning, he wants to own that, but he loves Gabby a lot and wants this to be forever. Gabby says it has been hard, but they are trying the best they can to make it work. She forgives him. Jesse says life has challenges, relationships take work and he hopes it works out for them.
Erich leaves the stage and Gabby is with Jesse, she tells him that she wants Rachel to be happy. She says the show has shown her how to be more vulnerable and open to love. Grandpa John says that he approves of Erich.
Jesse introduces the new Bachelor, Zach who says he wants women coming into this situation being true and wanting to find love. He says when he got out of the limo he completely blacked out and forgot his name. He wants to see women’s personalities and he is going to be scared with them. Jesse says Sean Lowe and his wife Catherine are in the audience and they met on the show. Sean says he found his best friend and wants the same for Zach. Catherine tells Zach not to wear his shirt a lot, but be himself, if he can show who he really is, he will find someone who is for him. Sean says to have fun with it, find his best friend. Sean offers to give more advice if Zach wants it. Jesse tells Jesse there is something he doesn’t know, it is about his journey.
His journey starts now. They change the setting, it is the mansion behind them, everything is lining up. Zach can only say oh my God. Jesse tells Zach that he is going to meet one of the women now and America is going to decide who gets the special “America’s First Impression Rose.” America has to tweet the name of the women they want to vote for. The first women arrives on stage, her name is Brooklyn, a Dental Lab Tech and she is 25-years old. Brianna is next, she is an Entreprenuer and she is 24-years old and they take a selfie. She puts the photo in his pocket and tells him that it is a little thing to remember her by. Bailey is an Executive Recruiter and she is 27- years old.
Cat is a professional dancer and she is 26-years old and she says dating her is not for the weak. Christina Mandrell is a Content Creator and she is 26-years old, she says she brought something from home ot calm the nerves, it is two small bottle of Jack Daniels. Jesse comes back on stage and says it is tough, to hug or not to hug. Zach says everyone impressed him and they all did something to make themselves memorable. America has voted and Jesse has the name of the woman who will win the historic, America’s First Impression Rose. Zach has zero control. Jesse wants Zack to whisper in his ear who he thinks it is. The rose goes to Brianna. This means Brianna is safe the first night. Zach’s journey has begun, the season premier is January 23rd, 2023.
