The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Friday, January 7 Recap – Douglas’ Santa Kiss Clue for Hope – Brooke’s Lonely Lie

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Friday, January 7, reveals that Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) had a Santa kiss clue for Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) while Brooke Forrester’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) lonely lie got harder!

At home on Friday’s B&B episode, Brooke rehashed how she fell back into old habits and just kept pouring the vodka.

Brooke said she didn’t even know how she made it to bed that night. Brooke had no idea how she lost her willpower or what drove her to drink.

Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) wondered if Brooke was sure that Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) had nothing to do with this.

Hope thought maybe it was her fault – that she stressed Brooke by pushing too hard to have her father in her life.

Ridge argued that Deacon was the only thing new around there. He wondered if Deacon rattled Brooke in any way, but Hope snapped that her dad didn’t do anything like that.

Brooke assured Ridge that nothing was said, so Ridge wanted to accompany her to a meeting and walked away to gather the details.

Hope was apologetic about leaving Brooke alone that night, but she hugged her mom and promised she wasn’t alone now.

Meanwhile, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) remained at Forrester Creations with Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen), who got updates on Hope’s weird vibe earlier.

Steffy mentioned that Brooke apparently hadn’t been the same since New Year’s Eve when Ridge didn’t make it home.

Consciously or not, Taylor thought it sounded like Brooke was holding it against Ridge.

Steffy brought up the idea that maybe Deacon was a factor.

Steffy was fed up over the whole Deacon situation since Ridge and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) deserved better than all that grief.

Steffy felt like Ridge always had to pick up the pieces when things blew up in Brooke’s face.

Steffy hinted that it wouldn’t be long until Ridge needed someone else to lean on.

At the cabin, Liam teased Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) about his new assistant doing his gift shopping for him.

Liam pointed out that Bill didn’t even know the woman’s name before Douglas appeared.

“Hey, Dollar Bill,” Douglas said. Bill insisted he loved that kid before Liam sent Douglas outside to play.

Talk eventually turned to whether things were OK in Liam’s marriage, so he confirmed things were indeed OK. That said, the Deacon drama hadn’t been easy.

Liam admitted he’d be happy if he was wrong about Deacon, but Bill knew his son wasn’t.

Bill argued that Deacon would show his true colors right as Hope walked in on the conversation.

Hope acknowledged how Bill felt, but she didn’t care and needed some alone time with her husband.

Once Bill left, Hope worried she was asking too much of Brooke – that maybe her mother resented her.

Liam didn’t think that was possible and wondered what was going on, so Hope admitted that Brooke drank on New Year’s Eve.

After Liam got over the shock, he assured Hope that she wasn’t to blame. Brooke went years and years without drinking, so it wasn’t Hope’s responsibility to know she’d slip up that night.

Hope still thought it was sad that Brooke was all alone and needed help.

Hope wished she had let Liam take the kids back to the cabin on his own, but Liam offered more reassurance. Liam felt they would all be there for Brooke now, including Ridge.

When Liam learned Brooke was at a meeting, he thought that was great news.

Hope was stuck on why Brooke broke her sobriety after all these years. She felt there had to be some reason they missed and wondered why it would happen now.

After Douglas came inside, he asked what was wrong and thought Mommy seemed upset.

Hope admitted she was a little sad – that it was just something to do with Grandma. Douglas excitedly replied that he saw Grandma kissing Santa Claus, but Liam gently discouraged talking about that right now.

At Brooke’s AA meeting, Brian (Alfonso Caballero) the meeting leader spoke about resisting temptation during the holidays thanks to his sponsor.

Brian invited Brooke to share as one of their new faces, so she got up to speak.

“I’m Brooke, and I’m an alcoholic,” she confessed. Brooke talked about her relapse on New Year’s Eve and how it came out of nowhere.

Brooke had a wonderful holiday with her family until she was all alone waiting for her husband to come home.

Brooke said that’s when something switched inside her. She had this overwhelming urge to drink real alcohol, so she reached for the vodka, poured a glass and slugged it back like she’d already been drinking.

Brooke couldn’t figure out why this happened after all these years in recovery.

Brian asked Brooke if she said she was alone, so she got a bit flustered. “Alone?” Brooke replied as she paused dramatically to wrap up the show.

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Brooke will have to be careful not to slip up in other ways as this B&B storyline moves along!
