The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Monday, May 16, reveals that Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) escape was blocked, but she vowed a comeback after Deputy Chief Bradley Baker (Dan Martin) captured the killer.
At the cliff house on Monday’s B&B episode, Sheila kept trying to defend her actions and put the blame on Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) wanted Sheila to shut up and remained glad that Sheila was going to pay.
Steffy hoped it was excruciating for Sheila, who would spend the rest of her life rotting behind bars. Sheila tried to act like John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) would want Steffy to have compassion, but Steffy disagreed and had no sympathy for Sheila at all.
Although Steffy wasn’t able to protect Finn, she vowed to protect Hayes Forrester Finnegan (Piper Harriot). Sheila was sorry that Hayes would grow up without a father, but she refused to go to prison and bolted for the door.
A cop was there waiting for Sheila, who tried the door leading out of the kitchen next. There was another cop along with Baker, who revealed that Steffy had been wearing a wire. Baker said he’d been in the backroom listening to everything and felt they had more than enough to take Sheila in.
After Baker arrested Sheila for Steffy’s attempted murder and the actual murder of Finn, Sheila wanted her chance to speak. Steffy allowed it since there was nothing Sheila could do now anyway.
Sheila ranted about how the Forresters took unconditional love for granted. She talked about how her chance with Finn was gone and insisted she’d never intentionally hurt him.
Steffy fired back about how Sheila didn’t destroy her. Now Steffy intended to raise her son to be like Finn and said Hayes would never even know the name Sheila Carter.
Steffy made it clear that Sheila would be forgotten and told her goodbye. Sheila then raged over the mistake she felt Steffy, Ridge and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) were making. After Sheila said they hadn’t seen the last of her, she shouted that she’d be back and was hauled off to jail.
After Taylor and Ridge assured Steffy that the nightmare was over, Taylor sent Ridge over to Brooke Forrester’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) place. Ridge was hesitant to leave after everything that had happened, but Taylor felt that Brooke needed answers.
Once Ridge was gone, Taylor and Steffy talked about Sheila sabotaging Brooke. Steffy admitted she was worried that the latest revelations could change things for Taylor and Ridge.
At home, Brooke just wished she could figure out what triggered her to drink on New Year’s Eve. Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) wondered if Brooke really needed an explanation – especially if Ridge’s issue was more about what the drinking led to.
Although Brooke knew what she did with Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) was wrong, she argued that it wouldn’t have happened if she’d been sober. Brooke wanted to find out the cause of her drinking so she could forgive herself and show Ridge that she could be trusted.
After Hope was gone, Brooke was surprised when Ridge showed up at the door. Ridge revealed that Steffy remembered Sheila was the shooter and explained that she’d been arrested.
Brooke felt lucky since Sheila hadn’t done anything to her in years, but Ridge said that wasn’t true. Once Ridge exposed Sheila’s Champagne label swap trick, Brooke realized Sheila was responsible for her fall off the wagon.
