The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, November 2, reveals that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) spied Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) and Hope Spencer’s (Annika Noelle) hug in a close backstage moment. Here’s how all the B&B drama played out.
Ahead of the Hope for the Future preview, there were plenty of models, makeup artists, photographers and more buzzing around. Thomas and Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) were also on hand to make sure everything was all set for the fashion show.
Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) praised Katie Logan (Heather Tom) for her success in pitching this event and talked about how there was a lot at stake. Today really needed to be a big win for Hope.
Katie hyped up the line to buyers and reporters since people seemed to think Hope for the Future was fading out. Steffy felt that everyone would be in for a big surprise – and Katie later agreed today was about Hope for the Future reclaiming its place in the fashion world.
Thomas talked to Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Eric Forrester (John McCook) about the showstopper gown that he’d designed especially for Hope. Since Thomas couldn’t find Hope anywhere, Charlie Webber (Dick Christie) mentioned that Liam tracked her down at the office.
Meanwhile, Hope agonized over her speech and got pep talk from Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) before Liam arrived. Although Liam hugged Hope and said he was proud of her, he felt it was almost hypocritical to celebrate Thomas like this.
Hope pushed Liam to support her anyway, so Brooke sensed they needed to talk alone and took off. Liam had mixed feelings since he wanted to be at the preview for Hope, but he hated the idea of applauding Thomas – especially when he’d abused his position to become a “surrogate husband.”
Hope insisted this was a big day for her and begged Liam to be there, but he struggled with the thought of watching her bask in success with Thomas as her lead designer. Liam acted like Hope was asking too much of him since he’d have to watch Thomas live out his fantasy.
Hope was in tears as she urged Liam to go back to hating Thomas tomorrow and just be there for her today. Suddenly, Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) interrupted with a hug for Hope after blowing right past Liam. Douglas said he was so excited for his mom and dad, so Liam looked tense.
Back in the fashion show area, Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) gave Katie a quick kiss for good luck and left her giggling. Steffy walked over to discuss how it was up to Hope and Thomas to pull off this event.
Thomas gave the team some supportive words and praised Zende’s growing talent as his number two designer. Steffy was hopeful about the new direction of the line, but she pointed out you could never predict how the press would react.
Hope eventually showed up and admitted she’d been trying to talk Liam into sticking around. Thomas realized Liam was taking a stand against him, but he said they should just focus on the preview.
After Thomas insisted this would be one of the greatest and most triumphant moments of their lives, he offered Hope more reassurance. Hope then gave a speech to the team and sent them out there to “absolutely crush it,” so Thomas watched her with a look of adoration.
On stage, Hope was excited to unveil Hope for the Future’s newest collection. Although they were growing with the times, Hope said their defining principles of courage, strength, empathy and selflessness hadn’t changed.
Hope added that they boldly believed there was hope for the future and told everyone to enjoy the show. Once the models started hitting the runway, Thomas found Hope backstage and suggested she should be getting dressed for the showstopper.
Hope wanted to tell Thomas something first, so she gushed about how grateful she was and said she couldn’t have done this without him. Thomas made it clear that it was a team effort and gave Hope a hug.
Nearby, Liam peeked around the curtain after showing up after all and didn’t look happy about the warm embrace!
As the fashion preview continued, Hope seemingly scanned the crowd for Liam and looked disappointed when she didn’t see him.
