The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 5, teases that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) was revealed to be spending nights over with Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) – and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) surprised Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) in Aspen.
Outside the Forrester mansion, B&B replayed the comical moment where Ridge got hit in the head with a pinecone while contemplating his destiny.
In Aspen, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) suggested that maybe they should buy Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) place and turn it into a family retreat.
Taylor wanted to use this time to figure out a path forward, but Steffy wanted to make sure that path led right back to Ridge.
After Taylor said she wanted to stay there and focus on self-reflection, Steffy insisted they could order in. Taylor felt she had behaved like a teenager since she came back to LA, but Steffy thought she was simply a woman in love and urged her not to give up.
However, Taylor said she should stay away from Ridge to avoid all the what ifs and glimmers of hope.
Taylor warned Steffy to stop encouraging “this thing” between her and Ridge since she didn’t want it like this. It was only going to cause heartbreak and disappointment as far as Taylor was concerned.
Taylor didn’t want Ridge to choose her because Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) let him down again; she wanted to be Ridge’s first choice since that’s what he was to her.
As tears streamed down Taylor’s face, she begged Steffy to understand that this was breaking her heart and soul. Taylor said she couldn’t do this anymore, so Steffy backed down and pulled her mom into a hug.
At Brooke’s place, she guessed Hope was still tied up in her meeting. Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) suggested they shouldn’t use the phrase “tied up” when talking about Thomas and recapped all the ways Thomas had inserted himself into Hope’s life.
After Liam mentioned Brooke’s upcoming romantic dinner with Ridge, Brooke suggested Liam would have an amazing night with Hope, too. Liam muttered about if Hope came home in time, so Brooke wondered what was up.
That led to Liam admitting that Hope had been taking Beth Spencer (River Davidson) over and spending the night at Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) place sometimes.
Brooke was shocked as she insisted Hope never told her that. Now Brooke was really worried, so she pushed Liam to be there for her daughter.
At Forrester Creations, Thomas continued to reassure Hope about the CPS visit and how Douglas Forrester (Django Ferri) was fine. Hope pointed out that Thomas could call her for backup in situations like that, so he was taken aback to learn she had that much faith in him.
After Hope said she’d like to see Douglas later, Thomas assured her that she was welcome anytime along with Beth. Talk turned to Hope for the Future and how Hope considered it their line, so Thomas seemed touched and vowed to always give his best.
As Hope and Thomas hovered over a sketch, they kept brushing each other. Hope seemed rather flustered as she gathered up her things to leave, but she lingered for a moment and stared at Thomas on her way out.
Next, Steffy called Thomas to tell him Taylor was in bad shape and ask where Ridge was. Thomas admitted he hadn’t seen Ridge since they discussed Brooke earlier.
At Brooke’s place again, she left Ridge a voicemail and couldn’t want to see him tonight. Brooke smiled over a framed photo and gazed up at the door while she waited.
While out enjoying nature in Aspen, Taylor thought back to Monaco memories with Ridge. Suddenly, Ridge called out to Taylor from nearby and approached. Although Taylor looked a bit annoyed, Ridge smiled at her.
