Tonight’s The Family Chantel episode begins with Pedro going through the car wash, he tells his baby that he is looking good now. He has been talking to his mom again, things are just back to normal, no apologizing. She is still his mom, but he thinks differently about her now because she is very guarded, and doesn’t speak about her feelings. He Facetimes his mother, he tells her that Chantel and her family went to Mexico so Winter could have her surgery.
His mother, Lidia, says Pedro doesn’t tell her a lot, because Chantel’s family is strange, they have their ways and she has hers. She has no relationship with Chantel. He tells her that his problem with Chantel is that she doesn’t clean, and she is not organized. He finds that since they moved to the new home things changed a lot, Chantel only thinks about herself. He thought she would be more supportive of him, but she is not.
He asks how the crazy lady is and his mother says she wants to enter a pageant, in the Dominican Republic. Lidia says that Alejandro was the key to disrupting this family. That incident with Nicole was in at the hotel with Pedro, she had a precise order and it was from her boyfriend. She thinks he gave her an order. She thinks he is selfish and never wants to speak to him again. Pedro is angry with his sister because of how she behaves, she chose her boyfriend over him. He wants her to make peace, he won’t do it.
Winter is in a hospital bed; she says this is freaky. Chantel is there, she takes care of all her patients with love and respect, but it is taking extra care of her sister. Winter doesn’t lie needles and has to get one. They need to take blood. Winter starts crying. Karen is there and never realized that Winter was like that, she is surprised. It is time for Winter to go, Karen and Chantel are allowed to go into the operating room to see Winter go under and fall asleep.
Pedro is home, he is singing and cleaning the house. He finds there is a lot to do as a homeowner. He is enjoying a beer when River walks in to help him to set up a piece of furniture. Pedro tells him that Chantel doesn’t think he is a handyman and wants her to be proud of him. River says Pedro is his brother from a mother, he is his dawg.
Pedro asks about Mega, River hasn’t spoken to her since they broke up, he is trying to move forward. River is happy to do what he wants to do, he wants to move out and have more freedom, walk around naked if he wants to. Pedro asks him if he practiced how he is going to tell his mother. River says he will start with mom I love you. Pedro thinks he is not ready, he is just trying to be a tough guy. River says it is time for him to be his own man. Pedro just wants to build the furniture and River is trying to get him to read the instructions. Pedro only bought the bookcase to show Chantel that he could do something, he really didn’t need it.
At the hospital, Karen and Chantel are patiently waiting while Winter is in surgery. Winter is having a gastric sleeve, they are taking out 75% of her stomach. Whenever you have surgery like this, there are risks of infection and Chantel is worried, this is scary, she is her little sister.
Winer is awake, she is talking to them and Chantel thinks it is a good sign.
Nicole wants to live her life traveling, have a fabulous life, and maybe get a sugar daddy to take care of her. She goes to see Stalin who is a runway teacher. He has a lot of flavors but is also intimidating. He tells her that she needs a lot of work. There are girls more beautiful than she is, so she needs to be trained well. She tires and he tells her to stop walking like a horse. Then he says Ms. Dominican Republic is a tall order. To win there is a lot of work she has to put in.
Karen and Chantel bring Winter flowers, she says she feels hot. They are wondering how she is going to handle the recovery is she going to be in pain. They Facetime daddy, Karen tells him that Winter is fine, she came out of surgery with flying colors. Winter is barely awake, her eyes keep closing.
Chantel messages Pedro, she does miss him and hopes they can get back on the right foot.
Pedro is at work, he loves his job and his co-workers are very good – it is a Latino office, and he gets along with everyone. He works late a lot with Antonella, they do well together. She says she loves working with them, he is very humble and honest. The team meets with Laura, their boss, and she talks about an incentive, whoever wins will get a free trip.
Chantel talks about Winter and says she has to win her journey before she explains it to another person, like Nmesoma.
Winter is a few days post-surgery and she Facetimes Nmesoma from Mexico, she didn’t tell him she was having the surgery and it feels wrong. She is worried that he may not be attracted to her if she lost weight. She asks him what would happen if she went to Africa and looked different. She tells him about the surgery. He tells her that it would have been nice if she told him. She says her last relationship, he was against surgery, and it left her scarred. He tells her that she has his support. He wishes her a healthy recovery.
Karen and Chantel are getting massages and can’t wait to go back home. She wants to talk to Pedro when she gets home about spending quality time with her.
