Tonight on NBC their new medical drama “The Good Doctor” airs with an all-new Monday, March 14, 2022, episode and we have you The Good Doctor recap below. On tonight’s The Good Doctor season 5 episode, 10 called, “Cheat Day,” as per the ABC synopsis, “Salen (Rachel Bay Jones) takes extreme measures when she learns that the surgical staff have joined Lim’s efforts against her.
Meanwhile, the team treats a liver transplant patient whose organ donor unwittingly gave him cancer. And elsewhere, Jordan, Asher and Andrews look for a surgical solution to remove a pregnant surrogate’s cancer in such a way that she won’t also need a hysterectomy to survive.”

Tonight’s The Good Doctor episode begins with Aaron visiting Shaun who says he quit because Salen was going to make him a bad doctor. Aaron reminds him that it will be challenging to get another position that works for him because of his ASD. Lea is there, Aaron tells Shaun to apologize and save his career. Shaun says he will focus on the medicine.
Marcus tells Salen that there is a lot of bad morale at the hospital and he is concerned about it. She tells him that the two of them are going to make it the most successful in the Bay area.
Morgan is consulting a patient, Shaun walks in to consult. The patient had a liver transplant and fainted. Shaun looks towards the door and sees Salen, he goes out and he tells her that he no longer wants to quit. She tells him that he needs to leave now and it is not a suggestion. Shaun says no, he is on the poster and she will not pull him out of the hospital kicking and screaming, it will be a PR disaster and she won’t do that.
Audrey is with another patient who is pregnant and a surrogate, her name is Grace. The baby has a healthy heartbeat, but Grace is having pains. Audrey orders an ultrasound.
Shaun and Alex are doing a scan on the man with the new liver, his brain scan is clear but then he starts having a seizure.
The team is strategizing against Salen when she walks in. She tells Audrey, Aaron and Lea that she is terminating their employment immediately. She looks at all three of them and tells them what she knows about them and if they don’t leave quietly she will release it. She brought pizza, takes a slice and walks out. Now Lea is wondering If they are wasting their time. Audrey says the pension meeting is in two days, they have to create a viral moment
Marcus goes to see Salen, he is furious and tells her that blackmail is unacceptable.
Grace has bladder cancer, Marcus tell her that she should terminate the pregnancy and treat the cancer.
Marcus calls a meeting with Alex, Morgan and Shaun – they talk about the man who had the seizure, but the air is thick. Meanwhile, Asher tells Jordan that he is going to speak out with the rest at the pension fund meeting and she should join to. They get a text right then, Grace is crashing.
Shaun is checking on his patient, who now has a sore neck – turns out all his back is red and Shaun thinks it is either encephalitis or a heart problem.
Grace’s cancer is spreading faster than they thought, and she had a rupture. If she doesn’t have surgery, the cancer could kill her. The mom, who she was having he baby for, tells her to terminate the pregnancy and get rid of the cancer. Grace won’t do it, she is not going to hurt the baby. She decides that she will go ahead with the chemo to give her time to have the baby.
Alex tells Morgan that he went over some of her files. He brings a patient to her attention that is blind because of her.
Alex, Marcus, Morgan and Shaun are talking – Alex is against what Salen has done. He turns to Marcus and tells him that he stands by Salen after she killed a child. Alex says he is done, he will finish his rounds with his patients and submit his resignation.
Shaun meets Lea at a restaurant, he tells her that he is the poster boy, he wants to join them. He says that the ones against Salen stood up for him so many times and now he wants to stand up for all of them. She says ok.
Asher and Jordan are in an operating room, he tells her that he wants her on his side. She still won’t do it, she says she is a black woman and took a lot to get where she is. He says he is sorry. She tells him that she thinks she knows who Grace is fighting for.
Jordan and Asher go to see Grace, turns out she had a child and lost it because she was arguing on the phone with her boyfriend and wasn’t paying attention at the playground.
Marcus goes to see Audrey who is packing up and he says he is sorry. She says she is not done yet, he tells her that Salen will destroy her.
Morgan meets with her patient, she tells her that she slowed down life, she walks her kids to school, he relationship is in a good place, she was reminded what is important in live.
Shaun’s patient, Ryan, with the liver transplant has liver cancer, the donor, his friend, gave him cancer. It has also spread, they can give him a few additional months, but that is it.
Shaun meets with Aaron, he doesn’t like that he wants to join the fight against Salen, he has too much too lose, he is exceptional and what he has accomplished is remarkable, they can’t risk that. Shaun says this is his decision, he is an adult. Aaron asks the hard question, what will he do If he can’t be a surgeon. Shaun says that is not the most important thing to him anymore, he doesn’t want to lose all of them.
Grace is in surgery, the baby is in distress. Asher says they have to do a hysterectomy or she is going to die. Jordan comes up with an idea that may save the baby.
Ryan is going into surgery, his friend Tom who gave him the liver is beside himself that he gave him cancer. Ryan gives him comforting words and tells him that he gave him more time, he got to see his baby born.
Morgan tells Alex she wants to go public, she has to make things right.
Marcus comes out of surgery, Salen tells him all the names of people are going to speak at the pension fund meeting. He tries to persaude her to speak to them, she might lose, and she will lose more than the hospital. Salen tells him that she has to get ready for the meeting.
Time for the meeting, Jordan shows up and sits beside Asher. Shaun gives Lea his hand. Salen shows up with an entire team. Marcus tells her that he is sorry, he gives her a folder of the mistakes that he has made professionally and tells her that if she is going to do this, she is going to destroy him as well. He tells her to walk away, she signs the paper. She wishes him good luck and tells him that now, this is all their problem.
Alex is with Morgan in the car, he asks her if she will sleep over and she says yes. She shows him that she was honest to her patient about the mis-conduct and she did it because of who she is when she is with him.
Audrey walks into the hospital, the staff all clap and are happy to see her. She looks over at Marcus, who nods to her.
Grace is doing well, Jordan and Asher are with her doing a sonogram.
Shaun is with Lea, unpacking their things in the hospital.
Marcus’ name plate is put on the door, president.
