In tonight’s The Masked Singer episode, for the first time in the show’s history, it was an all-female finale! It was the Harp vs the Lambs. The Harp was the first to answer a couple of questions and she told Nick all about herself. Nicole was her favorite panelist. She also would like to switch with Nick sometimes because performing in that costume was a task. The Harp has enjoyed her time on the show. She loved being a woman of mystery. She loved being crowned the queen. Her favorite performance was when she performed Lizzo’s “About Damn Time”. And after Harp discussed a little about her time on the show, the show did some behind-the-scenes shots.

There were more characters this year. It created more work for the costume design team. It also highlights their supreme skill with a sewing needle. Some of the former contestants talked about the costume phase. Picking out a costume, trying on parts, and even doing dress rehearsals. There was a lot that went into the performances that they didn’t show until tonight. They showed all the nitty gritty tonight. They also touched base with the Lambs. The Lambs went through all their past performances to discuss how they were feeling at that given moment. And they called themselves sisters because they were that close.

The Lambs also gave a huge clue. The judges guessed they were everyone from the Chicks to the Corrs. The Lambs admitted before the revealing that they weren’t HAIM. Meaning the others were still in play. Then there was some behind-the-scenes footage of the past contestants again. They talked about what it was like to be onstage. They talked about losing. Chris Jericho thought his costume as the Bride was truly legendary and it felt disappointing when he ended up losing to an avocado. Another thing that the contestants agreed on was that they were taking costumes with them when they left.

The Harp also gave her own clue. She admitted she was definitely not Fantasia Borrino. Both the Harp and the Lambs talked about their biggest threat. For the Harp, it was the Hummingbird. There was also the Panther. For the Lambs, it was the RoboGirl. The Milkshake was also a great performer. But it was the Snowstorm that had all the finalists worried. The Snowstorm herself loved her time onstage. She said she wanted to wear that mask as long as possible because she wanted to keep singing for as long as possible. They all loved the singing. Even the ones that weren’t traditional singers still loved being able to sing and have the audience on their feet screaming for them.

There was a big clue moment. The Harp’s big clue was a yellow sports car. The Lambs big clue was a bridal bouquet. As for the best performance this season, it had to be from Gloria Gaynor when she performed “I Will Survive”. The funniest moment was when Will Shatner discussed his experience in the costume after he was unmasked. Finally, there came time for the last performance from the finalists. The Harp went first. She was glad to be on the show because she said it allowed her to move away from people’s expectations and just enjoy herself. She also said carting around that harp was no joke.

The Harp performed “The Edge of Glory”. She ditched the back end of that harp for that performance and she rocked it out with the backup dancers. It was during her performance that Jenny screamed because she swore she knew who the Harp was. Afterward, Ken once again suggested the Harp was Jennifer Hudson. It was one of the few times he wasn’t booed and so he took that as a win. Robin guessed she was a triple threat – comedy, acting, and singing. He thought she was Yvette Nicole Brown. Nicole meanwhile discussed her whole thought process before settling on Amber Riley. And Jenny thought the Harp was Jordan Sparks.

Mostly everyone was getting an “American Idol” vibe at least once with the Harp. The Harp’s latest performance was her best to date and it was up to the Lambs to beat it. The Lambs admitted they’ve been onstage for most of their lives. But it took the show for them to put their individualities on display. They performed “I’m Every Woman”. The harmonies on that one were just utter perfection. It didn’t beat the Harp’s performance, but it was still great and the guesses for them were all over the place. Ken wavered between the Kardashians and the Spice Girls. Both Robin and Nicole thought they could be the Wilson Phillips although Nicole wasn’t too sure about that one.

And Ken took so much time that Jenny didn’t get to mention who she thought the Lambs were. The Lambs admitted in a clue package that they went their separate ways for fourteen years and that they explored careers and were able to enjoy motherhood. Only being onstage together was something they all appreciated. Their second performance was “I Wanna Know What Love Is”. They did their own rendition by slowing it down and adding violins instead of guitars and it was beautiful. It truly highlighted each lamb as a singer as well as a group. And after their performance, it was back to the Harp.

The Harp performed “Gravity”. She put a soulful spin on it. She also added a level of skill to those high notes that weren’t there before and so she really pulled out all of the stops for her performances tonight. She made the song better than the original. She was one of the greatest singers to ever grace “The Masked Singer” stage. Everyone said so. Everyone believed so and so before they even went to vote – it was clear who the winner was going to be. The winner of the Golden Mask trophy was naturally the Harp!

The Harp was the winner. But who were they under those masks? The Lambs were revealed to be Wilson Phillips.

The Harp was revealed to be Amber Riley. She won this season of the Masked Singer and she deserves nothing but the best in life.

THE END!
