In tonight’s The Masked Singer episode, the show finished out Round 1 tonight. There were two unmaskings to mark the occasion and whoever won this round was going straight to the Season Finale. The Thingamabob went up first. He talked about his family in his video. They apparently weren’t all that supportive when he first mentioned he had his dream and his siblings had even stopped talking to him. Then he became successful.

He went on to become famous and he seems to imply that it had something to do with sports. His family came onboard after he achieved his dream. The Thingamabob performed the song “Classic” by MKTO. And he gave another wonderful performance that had a little bit of everything in it.

There was the singing. There was the dancing. He just got the crowd amped for the night and so Ken said he would never have guessed that the Thingamabob was in sports. He tended not to think athletes could have put on such a wonderful performance. Ken so convinced that the Thingamabob wasn’t an athlete that he guessed it was Liam Hemsworth behind the mask.

He said it would explain the wrecking ball what with him having been married to Miley Cyrus and Liam has siblings. He has several who led the way into acting. Robin on the other hand thought he was Jason Mamoa. He said he was getting “Aquaman” vibes from the clue package.

Next up was the Cyclops. The Cyclops also mentioned how tough it was breaking into the business. He said he was going through some stuff at the time and that he had been down in the dumps, but then he won the lottery or got as lucky as winning the lottery. It turned his life around.

He had something to do with a fiddler and there was also a statue of David in his package as well. But the Cyclops is not really a singer. He tried. He really did try. He performed the song from “Flashdance”. He didn’t really dance because his field of vision is cut off by the one eye opening and that was because of his costume.

The judges all thought differently on this one. Ken thought the Cyclops was Dave Bautista because he saw the meteorite clue and he thought it was connected to the film “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Jenny remembered the fiddler part of the package. She thought the Cyclops was Zac Brown. He plays in a band and it could be why he wasn’t used to singing pop songs from the 80s.

Robin was taken aback by the podcast clue in the package because he thought it was connected to Dax Shepherd who has one of the most popular podcasts out there. And so the judges were all focusing on whatever in the clue package grabbed their notice.

They did that with all the performers tonight. This included the Firefly. The Firefly mentioned in her clue package that she didn’t think she had talent at first and that it took her mother believing in her to push her forward. Her mother even set up a mini stage in their neighborhood so that the neighbors could watch her perform.

They also charged these neighbors. It was thanks in large to one of said people that the Firefly got her big break. The Firefly showed that she was modeling in clothes and that could mean anything. Another clue had been her costume itself. Ken thought she must be Alicia Keys because she saw the song “Girl On Fire”.

None of the other judges had agreed with him. If anything, they threw out names like Ciara or Monica. The judges were all over the place and not even a later performance from all three contestants was enough to change their minds. The only thing that took them by shock was the unmaskings. Up first was the Cyclops. The Cyclops took off his mask and he was revealed to be Jorge Garcia. He was also known for being one of the breakout starts of the tv show “Lost”. He’s a great actor. But, yeah, he wasn’t a singer.

The next and last person to be unmasked was the Thingamabob. He lost out and the Firefly will be going into the next round, but the Thingamabob turned out to be Jordan Mailata. He was an active NFL player who had taken time off of the league to be there. He has a wonderful voice and the judges are going to miss him. None of them guessed it right with the contestants tonight and so they’ll need try that much harder in the future.

THE END!
