In tonight’s The Rookie episode, Bailey is on the scene with a crew to what looks like an abandoned house. They go inside, and she tells some of the crew to go upstairs, and others to go out back while she looks around not the main label, they got a call for a medical emergency. All of a sudden, she thinks she hears someone saying “help me,” and she falls through the floor into a steel circular cage, on the wall is written, “got you,” and Bailey says, Rosalind. The area is covered by a grate and when a firefighter touches the gate, he gets electrocuted. The 911 call was a setup and the grate has 900 volts.
Bailey calls Nolan, it doesn’t take him long to get there. She warns him that there may be other booby traps, there were some weird lights at the top near the grate when the firefighter got electrocuted.
Nolan takes Bradford outside to speak in private, in case Rosalind is listening to everything inside. Harper, Chen, and Lopez join them in the squad car.
They try cutting into the floor to get at Bailey and spikes come up on the floor where she is trapped. Water is now filling up trapping her, Nolan gets a call from Rosalind and she tells him that he is the only way to save Bailey, it is easy, a trade, him for her. She tells Nolan to take off his body cam and walk. He walks in the direction that she tells him. She tells him to take off his belt, badge, and weapon, and turn his pocket inside out. Nolan does so and dumps it all in a garage bin so a kid doesn’t find it. She tells him to go inside a car where the creepy bear is. She tells him to drive. He says no, he did a lot of what she asked, he needs something in return. She shows him a live video of Bailey, with the water almost up to her knees. He drives as she tells him to.
Nolan cuts off a guy, trying to attract some help, in return Rosalind punishes Bailey with some chemicals and she says if he does that again, she will cook her to death. Meanwhile, Chen notices Nolan missing, they find his gear in the garbage bin.
Grey gets a call, there is a sighting of Nolan in the blue station wagon. When he cut off that guy, he dropped a business card and the guy called it in. Nolan arrives in a parking garage, he has to run fast with the bear and go up to the seventh floor. Meanwhile, the cops have a visual on Nolan, sirens blaring, they are almost at his location. Rosalind gets Nolan to get into another vehicle, a work van and he leaves the parking garage. There is no way cops are going to find him now.
Lopez finds something, Tracy Ortega was abducted some time ago and a man kept in her some kind of tank, seems like it might be the same one as Bailey, Tracy escaped. Lopez and Harper speak to Tracy about how she escaped. They keep looking into the tank, where it was purchased from and they found something.
Test finds the warehouse where it appears the talk was made, there is another one and a woman is dead inside. They find their guy and run after him, he sets some kind of smoke bomb, and the place goes up on fire, but everyone gets out safe – he gets away.
Nolan is told to go to a house, he arrives and Rosalind is there, holding a glass of champagne, and holding a gun. She tells him that he is there to murder her. He looks over at a TV screen, Bailey is on it and she is close to drowning. She tells him to get dressed, there is a suit and if he doesn’t she will kill him and watch Bailey die.
At the tank, they need to cut the power and before the building blew up, Harper saw on the plans where the generator is located.
Rosalind tells Nolan that he is a saint, but she is sure that she can turn him into a murderer. She says that she is done, once he kills her, Bailey will be free. She hands him the gun and tells him that she is ready.
They cut the power to the tank, the top explodes, and there is fire above the water. Nolan is watching, Rosalind tells him to kill her or Bailey will die. Rosalind keeps telling her to kill her while Bailey is drowning and the team is trying feverishly to save her. Nolan can’t shoot her, he is crying.
The team gets through the tank and gets Bailey out and immediately tries to bring her back. She starts coughing up water, she is saved.
John calls in that he has Rosalind in custody, he is walking down the stairs and someone shoots Rosalind in the head, she is dead.
Bailey shows up with Grey who says now they can concentrate on finding her accomplice. Nolan hugs Bailey.
