The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) could be gearing up for a new rivalry. Will a Jabot co-CEO change of heart bring conflict?
Although Adam won’t be taking the co-CEO job right now, Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) decision to leave the door open is interesting.
After all, Jack himself pointed out that he could use the extra help.
Why not fill the co-CEO spot with someone else since Adam is unwilling to commit? We’d say there’s a reason why Jack’s letting his offer stand.
Kyle certainly doesn’t like the idea of Adam bringing all his baggage to Jabot. Although Kyle knows Jack is fond of Adam, he doesn’t share that same fondness and just doesn’t trust the guy.
After Kyle learned Adam turned down the co-CEO position in the August 25 episode, he was relieved and hopes Adam doesn’t change his mind.
Of course, that seems like a great setup for Adam to indeed change his mind down the road.
At the moment, Adam wants to focus on going after Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) for revenge, but let’s be real.
Even if Adam manages to gain the upper hand on Victor, he won’t keep it. Victor runs the show in Genoa City and never stays down for long.
In other words, Adam is probably wasting his time with all the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) stuff.
Although Adam might pull off some short-lived vengeful victory, he’d be better off moving forward – just like Jack has been pushing him to do.
At some point, Adam may return to the Jabot office and decide he’s going to accept the co-CEO spot after all.
That news would thrill Jack, but you can bet it’d worry Kyle.
Although Kyle is now running Marchetti, that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten about the mothership.
Kyle will always be interested in what’s happening behind the scenes at Jabot, especially if Adam’s going to be working closely with Jack.
Y&R fans know Kyle is awfully protective of his dad and the family business, so Adam is a walking red flag in his eyes.
Since Adam seems poised to work at Jabot eventually, it could bring a major feud with Kyle and provide some exciting drama.
