The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) may divorce Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) over a criminal divide. Abby needs a husband who can handle her shady family, but Chance may not be that guy!
When Chance first came back from the “dead,” he was focused on trying to recover mentally and emotionally.
Chance just wanted to be the best husband and father he could be, so work took a backseat.
However, Chance is in a much better place and is now tackling his career head-on again.
It’s obvious that Chance thrives in detective mode, but his scruples could lead to major drama in his marriage.
Abby has always been a bit of a Newman outsider, but she’s still loyal to her father and siblings.
It’s not like Abby usually goes against the grain since she adores Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and understands the kind of man he is.
Abby may struggle as Chance closes in on Victor as a cover-up suspect in the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) case.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will push Abby to make Chance back off, but it’s not really in Abby’s power to do that – even if she wanted to.
Chance doesn’t seem like the kind of man to back down from what he feels is right, but what happens if he puts Victor in prison?
What about Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) since they could also land behind bars?
That kind of thing could really fracture Abby’s marriage to Chance.
We’re bound to see some fighting between Chance and Abby as this storyline heats up, so that could take a toll on their relationship.
Are Abby and Chance headed for a split? Are Y&R writers setting this marriage up to crash and burn?
Chance and Abby’s romance may not survive if he can’t handle the shady family he married into – and it’s pretty clear that he can’t so far!
