The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) may pretend to make amends with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and dupe his dad as Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) investigation insider.
Y&R fans know Adam is currently a Newman in name only since he got so fed up with getting cast aside. Victor knocked Adam back off the throne and reinstated Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), so Adam finally decided he’d had enough.
Of course, Adam didn’t want to yank the Newman Media CEO spot away from Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), so he came up with this plan to dump her and ensure that her job remained secure. Now Adam has lost everything that matters to him and doesn’t care about being a real part of the Newman family anymore.
However, Adam also has a reason to fake a change of heart. In the August 11 episode, Adam pushes Chance to let him join the investigation since the detective could use someone on the inside. Since Adam isn’t on the inside anymore, he’ll have to take steps to change that.
We could soon see Adam go to Victor and insist he’s had some time to cool off. Although Adam may stand his ground on stepping away from Newman Enterprises, that doesn’t mean he has to cut ties with the family completely.
Adam might act like he sees that now and contend that he wants to be included in family matters. Perhaps Adam will suggest he’s concerned about Victor, Victoria and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) due to this whole Ashland situation.
We could see Adam work this worried angle and try to convince Victor to let him in the loop. Would Victor be wary and suspicious of Adam in that case? Would Victor be pleased over Adam’s shift in loyalty and become too trusting instead?
It’s easy to imagine Adam making a secret recording to prove Victor’s guilt or something along those lines. One way or another, Adam might become the reason Chance is able to bring Victor and the Newmans down.
Naturally, all this hinges on whether Chance gets on board with Adam joining his investigation – though Adam could always go rogue and make another pitch once he’s actually got information! As other Y&R news pops up, we’ll offer more updates.
