The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will see an opportunity to make amends with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and get their father-son bond back on track. Things got pretty tense for a while, but Victor will hope for a new beginning during the week of December 19-23.
Of course, Victor would love to have Adam back at Newman Enterprises if possible. It’s clear that Adam isn’t very passionate about his job at Jabot since he barely shows up there.
Even Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has noticed and doesn’t seem to think Adam is worthy of his position – at least not when she’s on the chopping block!
If Adam isn’t going to prove useful to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), maybe he’d be better off moving on.
Victor may think this clean slate he has in mind for Adam should extend to his career, too.
As far as Victor’s concerned, he may think 2023 should be when the prodigal son returns and helps make the family business the best it can be.
The problem is there really aren’t any open top executive jobs for Adam at the moment.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) certainly won’t give up her co-CEO spot – and Victor won’t want Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to step down from her own co-CEO spot either.
Now that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is finally back in the Newman fold as their COO, Y&R spoilers suggest Victor may be hesitant to rock the boat with him.
Although it’s possible Victor will end up wanting Nick out over the Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) situation, it’s equally possible Victor will just let that romance run its course. It’s not like Victor thinks Sally and Nick will last anyway.
With all that in mind, Victor’s best solution might be to fire Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) so that Adam can reclaim his old Newman Media throne.
That’s the job Victor wanted Adam to have before their latest falling out, so Victor may think Nate should be out while Adam steps back in.
You can bet Victoria would object, but Victor could always go over her head since it’s his company.
Victor gives Victoria a great deal of control, but he can have the final say if he wants it.
In other words, Victor has the power to fire Nate and rehire Adam if Victoria won’t do it.
It’d be the ultimate karma for Nate – who betrayed his own family – to get betrayed by his new employer and end up jobless.

Victor will definitely want to make some updates to his relationship with Adam, so we’ll see if those changes affect the staff at Newman Enterprises.
