The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) may leak Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) top-secret plans on his podcast. Will Billy cause chaos as the merger proposal goes public without approval?
Y&R fans know Billy had some trouble when he first sat down to do his podcast.
However, Billy was able to dig deeper a little later. He wound up praising Lily’s “genius” idea to merge Chancellor Industries and Hamilton-Winters before admitting he didn’t feel like part of that dream.
Billy views himself as someone who’s always on the outside instead. Unfortunately, it’s Billy’s inside knowledge that could present a problem here.
Billy surely never intended for that podcast to hit the airwaves with all that confidential information in it.
It was no doubt just a practice run, and Billy may not have thought it was actually recording.
Even so, the show already established that Billy was having a hard time working the equipment.
There’s a good chance Billy indeed recorded that podcast – and he could inadvertently go public with it if he’s not careful.
If Billy doesn’t botch this himself, some well-meaning employee could put the wrong podcast out there thinking it was meant to go up.
There’s the potential for Lily’s merger plan to leak when Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) already shut it down for now.
This could bring déjà vu for Lily in some ways. After all, Billy didn’t mean for that story on Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) to get published, but it indeed leaked – that led to the downfall of ChanceComm.
The stakes are even higher now that Lily is running Chancellor Industries with Billy as her COO.
What happens if Billy essentially makes the same mistake? Will Lily be forced to fire Billy in the aftermath?
At the very least, this could spark a huge fight.
Billy may prove he’s the same old screwup and infuriate Lily with his incompetence – leaving him feeling like even more of an outsider than before.
