The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will likely bond after Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) death. As a trauma survivor, Chance may find himself in a position to help Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) cope.
Y&R has already had some scenes to test Chelsea and Chance’s chemistry.
It’s clear that the show considers Chance and Chelsea a romantic possibility, so they may explore them as a couple once Rey gets killed off.
Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) talked to Chelsea recently about how she’d find a much better match than Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
What Abby doesn’t realize is that Chance may become Chelsea’s better match!
All signs point to Rey dying after a car crash, so that’ll give Chance and Chelsea a reason to connect.
Rey is someone they both care about a great deal, so they’ll really be feeling the loss once he’s gone.
The same goes for Connor, who could be rather traumatized if he’s in the car at the time of the accident.
Even if he isn’t, the grief of losing Rey will still be tough to bear.
The show has really played up Rey and Connor as buddies, so Connor will be devastated over this sudden goodbye.
It could leave Connor with a void that Chance might be able to fill.
Chance has struggled to find his footing as a father to Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware).
Chance just doesn’t feel like he has the same sort of bond that Abby and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) have with Dominic, so that’s taken a toll on him.
However, Connor’s trauma could bring an opportunity for Chance to draw on his own experience and feel useful again.
Chance knows what it’s like to face the sudden deaths of people you care about. If Connor has any survivor’s guilt, that’s something Chance could relate to as well.
Of course, Adam will always be Connor’s dad and will certainly support his son in any way he can.
Nevertheless, Connor’s looming issues seem like they could also be a good way to pull Chance in Chelsea’s direction.
There’ll be some moments for Chelsea and Chance to bond in mourning as well as work as a team for Connor’s sake.
