The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will recruit Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) to play peacemaker as the war over Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) custody spins out of control.
Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will seethe over Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) pushing for rights he was never supposed to have.
It’s one thing to let Devon be part of the big picture, but he basically wants to be a second father.
Devon has assured Chance that he doesn’t want to overstep as far as the role of dad goes, but let’s be real!
Devon admitted he started thinking he might be called “Dad” one day and had a hard time letting that dream go.
Although Devon doesn’t expect Dominic to call him any fatherly title now, he still wants to play a fatherly part in his life.
During the week of January 3-7, Chance will have a moment of honesty with Abby. He may feel like he’s failing as a parent and suggest that perhaps Devon really should step up.
However, Abby’s probably going to act like Devon’s fueling Chance’s fears with this custody push.
We’ll see Abby try to shut Devon down, but he’ll keep up his efforts to do what he feels is best for Dominic.
Devon and Abby had a strong friendship not too long ago, but it’ll crumble quickly thanks to Devon’s request – which is clearly turning into a demand.
Chance will once again blame himself for all the drama and feel like none of this would’ve happened if he’d just skipped the mission.
Chance hates that he didn’t put his family first since the consequences of that decision are playing out now.
Rey is Chance’s old partner and a close friend, so Chance will turn to his buddy for assistance. Rey also happens to be a good mediator who stays cool under pressure, which will be a bonus here.
It’s wise to bring in an outside party on this anyway since everyone else is just too close to the situation.
Y&R spoilers state that Chance will turn to Rey as someone he feels could truly help.
Rey will no doubt do his best, but this isn’t something that can be solved by a simple sit-down.
That may be something Detective Rosales quickly comes to realize since Abby and Devon will be dealing with so much hostility!
