The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Detective Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) may take on a dangerous case soon. Will Chance break his promise to Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) for a shot at redemption?
Although Abby is concerned about Chance’s return to work, she’s decided to support him 100 percent.
Of course, that’s only because Chance assured Abby that he would ease back into it gradually.
Chance has promised to pace himself and doesn’t want to take on any volatile assignments. He intends to do everything he can to avoid setbacks in his recovery.
Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) had concerns about Chance’s return to the GCPD as well, but Chance insisted that he had to be ready.
Chance agreed with Dr. Huffman’s (Jeremiah Jahi) advice about taking this area of his life back.
Chance admitted he really needed to be a detective again and vowed to be the partner Rey needed, too.
Chance pushed Rey to trust him – and the story truly does feel different this time.
This seems more like a shot at redemption for Chance, who feels like a failure since he couldn’t save his comrades in Spain.
There’s no reason for Chance to battle guilt, but he does anyway.
Chance also doesn’t like all this hero talk since he doesn’t think of himself as one, but perhaps he could feel more worthy once he’s saving the day as a cop again.
After that disastrous stakeout, Chance felt like a failure and would no doubt love some sort of do-over with more positive results.
There could be some crisis that comes up and forces Chance to get involved.
It could even tie in with Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) murder investigation since Ashland could be killed off before long.
Based on all the hints, Y&R spoilers say Chance may jump back into a volatile situation sooner than he planned.
Chance could put his own life on the line – and that may not go over well with Abby regardless of the outcome.
Unfortunately, this could lead to some drama in Chance’s marriage.
Abby may worry about losing Chance for good this time and fight with him over the risky decisions he’s making.
