The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) have a bit of a chemistry test coming up. Chance and Chelsea will share some new scenes together that could hint at a future romantic direction depending on how much they sparkle.
Of course, Chance is married to Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) right now. He’s committed to fixing the mistakes of the past and certainly isn’t in the market for a new pairing yet.
Likewise, Chelsea is stuck on Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and determined to defeat Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) in the battle for his heart. Chelsea should be focused on that goal in the coming weeks and will fight to the bitter end!
Even so, soaps always have to think about the future and what situations they’ll put characters in down the line. If Sally wins the war for Adam, Y&R will have to pair Chelsea up with someone else eventually.
As for Chance, it’s easy to imagine him pulling back from Abby and acting like he can’t be the husband she needs or the father Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) needs. Chance’s trauma has really taken a toll and could cause him to abandon his family down the road.
In other words, there may come a day when Chance and Chelsea are both single. It never hurts for the show to do some chem testing now and prepare for the future. That could be a big part of why these Chelsea and Chance scenes are happening.
As a bonus, Adam will witness Chance and Chelsea sharing a warm moment over coffee soon. It may not lead to jealousy exactly, but it’ll at least lead to curiosity and will make Adam wonder what’s going on.
Adam once considered Chance to be a good friend and is hoping to get that friendship fully back on track. That could make Chance the perfect romantic candidate for Chelsea at some point.
Adam might have a hard time dealing with it if Chelsea ultimately falls for Chance or even just has a fling with him somewhere down the line. Regardless, The Young and the Restless spoilers say the show will test the chemistry waters with Chance and Chelsea – just to see if any potential sparks are there.
