The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) may get pregnant by Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) since Y&R’s “baby daddy” hints are starting to pile up. Let’s consider some crucial clues and figure out where things might go from here.
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) finally seems to have gotten through to Chelsea when it comes to them not having a future together.
Chelsea doesn’t want Adam with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), but her attitude toward Adam seems to be shifting somewhat.
Adam humiliated Chelsea with his brutal rejection – so much so that Chelsea’s insisting on relocating Newman Fashion to avoid run-ins.
Naturally, the fact that this cuts off Sally’s daily interactions with Adam is a bonus.
Chelsea seems to have an “If I can’t have him, you can’t either” mindset when it comes to Sally as a romantic rival.
Nevertheless, Chelsea may finally be moving away from her mission to score a “Chadam” reunion.
Chelsea might soon have her eye on Rey instead – and that could spell trouble for Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) marriage.
They’re setting Rey up as the one guy who’ll listen without judgment and someone who genuinely cares about Chelsea’s well-being.
Rey has become surprisingly fond of Chelsea despite her poisoning efforts and truly wants to see her build a better life for herself away from Adam.
Chelsea enjoys being able to commiserate with Rey about Adam issues, but kids are a topic that consistently comes up between them.
At one point, Rey hinted to Chelsea about fatherhood not being in the cards for him. He feels like he would’ve been a good dad, but he knows that phase of Sharon’s life has passed.
Sharon is on the verge of becoming a grandma and is done raising children, so Rey has accepted that’s just the way it is.
However, Rey is always quick to talk to Chelsea about Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and seems to admire her as a devoted mom.
In the January 24 episode, Sharon will notice a warm moment between Chelsea and Rey.
Sharon will comment on Rey’s rapport with Chelsea, but he’ll just act like he got Chelsea talking about her child because that’s something proud parents love to do.
Of course, Y&R has also been offering up hints about Rey feeling on the outside of Sharon and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) family.
Rey doesn’t have kids with Sharon like Nick does, so he’s feeling a bit left out and perhaps even a little lonely.
The show could easily be gearing up for a cheating story that’ll leave Chelsea pregnant with Rey’s baby.
Then again, they might let Rey’s relationship fall apart another way and then have him land in bed with Chelsea for comfort.
Regardless, we can’t ignore how drawn to each other Chelsea and Rey are – nor can we ignore all the conversations about children they always seem to have.
It just feels like the show’s laying the groundwork for Chelsea to eventually get pregnant by Rey and make him a dad.
