The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) might be pregnant after some secret Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) passion. Will Chelsea face a dead “baby daddy” tragedy where she feels the need to hide the father’s identity?
Rey always wanted to be a father, so it’d be a sad twist if that wish was granted without him being around to see it.
However, it would also turn a lackluster exit story into one that’d actually bring some drama and excitement.
Before Rey was killed off, the show was obviously planning to pair him up with Chelsea at some point.
It looked like Rey might even cheat with Chelsea eventually, so what if they already did?
After all, cheaters don’t usually announce it to the world. Can we really know what went on behind closed doors?
Rey and Chelsea had definitely been feeling an intense vibe, so things might’ve taken a more than friendly turn toward the end.
Y&R fans will recall the warmth that was radiating after Rey agreed to attend the hockey game with Chelsea and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).
Rey also couldn’t help but notice how close Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) were getting.
Since Rey had been feeling on the outside of the “Shick” family for quite a while, it’s possible he surrendered to temptation with Chelsea offscreen.
Sharon was certainly suspicious of Chelsea wanting alone time with her husband.
Chelsea said all the right things and acted like Rey belonged with Sharon, but this is a con artist and a skilled liar.
Besides, if Chelsea cheated with Rey, she wouldn’t tell Sharon to her face!
Chelsea was devastated over the news of Rey’s death – perhaps more devastated than just a friend would be.
Maybe Chelsea became a secret lover and is mourning that loss on a deeper level.
Since Rey’s desire to be a dad was such a big part of his character and the story that was building with Chelsea, there’s a chance Y&R will continue that theme.
Chelsea might ultimately realize she’s pregnant by Rey and decide to keep the baby to honor his father wish.
Although Chelsea might try to hide the identity of her “baby daddy,” the truth would inevitably come out.
Can you imagine Sharon’s reaction? She’d be furious with Chelsea, so the show could still play up a great feud here.
Plus, Sharon would have to deal with the idea that her perfect husband wasn’t so perfect.
It’d be interesting for Sharon to wrestle with Rey’s betrayal without having him around to confront.
Sharon and Nick seem to be headed for a reunion, so they might get there faster with a Chelsea pregnancy twist.
All the pain and anger might drive Sharon to Nick’s bed even sooner than expected.
