The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) crisis may collide with Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) setback. Will mutual comfort bring a deeper connection?
Chelsea needs another love interest now that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) has been killed off.
Y&R was obviously building toward some form of a romance between Chelsea and Rey before they abruptly wrote Rey out.
Now Chelsea is feeling lost and alone in the aftermath of Rey’s demise.
Although Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) encouraged Chelsea to discuss her grief, Chelsea is mostly choosing to keep things bottled up instead.
That could be part of why Chelsea ends up in crisis mode during the week of May 23-27.
There’ll be something that triggers a setback, so Chelsea may get some reminder of Rey and mourn the loss all over again.
Meanwhile, Chance will face a setback of his own – though his will be more about feeling like he’s on the outside of his own family.
Chance will see the strong parental bond between Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway), so it’ll leave him feeling rather left out.
That’s especially true since Chance has never been able to connect with Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) quite like Devon has.
Rey also felt like an outsider due to Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) bond with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and the family they’d built.
That’s something Chance and Rey were previously able to connect over, but now Rey’s gone – and that leaves Chance without a confidant.
Since Chelsea and Chance are both going to need someone to talk to during the time of crisis ahead, they seem to be on a collision course.
This could serve as a turning point where Chelsea and Chance confide in each other before offering mutual comfort.
Rey is someone who meant a great deal to both Chance and Chelsea, so that alone could deepen their bond.
When you add some setbacks for Chelsea and Chance to work through together, they could have even more of a reason to grow closer.
