The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that we should think about what Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) romantic future is going to look like without Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). Will Y&R send Chelsea back to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) or offer a new path forward with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd)?
Now that Jordi Vilasuso is confirmed to be leaving the show, that means all this Rey and Chelsea buildup is for nothing.
Chelsea and Rey won’t have an opportunity to build a real relationship, so we should go ahead and start thinking about what that means for Chelsea.
Love triangles are a soap staple, so it wouldn’t be all that surprising if Chelsea drifted back in Adam’s direction.
Y&R might be tempted to reignite Chelsea’s war with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) – and that’d be easy enough to do if Chelsea decided she wasn’t done fighting for Adam.
Adam and Chelsea are always going to have a connection through Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).
Plus, there’s plenty of “Chadam” history to draw from, so Chelsea will never forget those memories and all the good times they shared.
Of course, there have been some bad times and even some downright ugly times as well, but Adam will always have a little piece of Chelsea’s heart.
With a Rey romance off the table, Chelsea might end up chasing after Adam again and throwing obstacles at his new relationship with Sally.
However, there’s another option if the show doesn’t want to mess with Adam and Sally or have Chelsea backslide on all the progress she’s made.
There have already been some nice bonding moments between Chelsea and Chance, so perhaps they have potential as a new pairing.
Chance and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) have faced their fair share of struggles since he came home from his mission.
Although Chance has been doing better, he could face more setbacks and find the idea of a fresh start with Chelsea appealing down the road.
Cheating scandals are another good soap trope, so there’s the potential for one whether Chelsea pursues Adam again or perhaps goes after Chance.
Regardless, Chelsea is going to need a love interest and another storyline after Rey’s exit.
