The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) may freeze in detective danger, so his premature return to the force could bring disaster. Y&R fans know Chance has decided the best thing he could do is get back to normal and rejoin the GCPD.
Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) is uneasy over that plan, especially since Chance doesn’t think he needs professional help.
Although Abby would rather see Chance stay home from work and get some therapy, she’s trying to support him and avoid hindering his own unique path to healing.
However, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) also expressed concern over Chance going back to his old job.
Detective Rosales saw the potential for trouble since Chance hasn’t worked through his trauma from Spain.
Rey knows a good cop has to be at the top of his game – and Chance certainly doesn’t qualify as someone at the top of his game!

It seems likely that Chance will freeze up and perhaps flash back to that horrific explosion.
Chance may remember how he was unable to save his comrades and let it affect his ability to save victims in the present.
It’s easy to imagine Chance making some major mistakes and nearly getting someone killed because of them.
Rey might step up to help Chance and save the day, but this is the kind of thing that could make Chance’s trauma even worse.
Chance obviously wants to get back to the business of saving lives as a way to cope with what happened in Valencia.
Chance’s mental state could further deteriorate if he puts more lives in jeopardy instead.
That could play out based on what we’ve seen from fragile Chance as well as Rey’s grim prediction.
