The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) may seal Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) divorce fate. Will this family fall apart after the bio dad gets what he wants?
Devon likes to act like he’s just doing what’s best for Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware), but that’s not entirely true.
This is also about what Devon wants – and what he wants is to be another father to Dominic.
Devon admitted to Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) this goes beyond just wanting to step up while Chance recovers.
Devon wants a more permanent role in Dom’s life and has even acknowledged that might be selfish, but he doesn’t care.
This Y&R storyline has become all about Devon and his personal desires, so it’s easy to see why Abby’s upset.
Abby feels like Devon is going to unravel her whole family with this push for shared custody – and he just might!
Since Devon seems to be on the verge of getting his way, we have to consider how that’ll affect Abby and Chance’s marriage.
Abby feels outnumbered since Chance agrees with Devon and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) on this.
That could cause some resentment as Devon continues to bond with Dominic through scheduled visits in his own home.
This will bring huge chunks of time when Dom isn’t home with Chance and Abby where he belongs.
Of course, that just means less time for Chance to bond with Dominic.
Abby may grow frustrated if Chance winds up feeling even less connected to Dom than before.
This also means less time for Abby to spend with her own son since Dom will be staying overnight at Devon’s place – at least if everything goes according to his plan.
That doesn’t seem fair to Abby, who’s a devoted mom and just wants the family Devon agreed to help make happen.
Devon is stealing a piece of that family instead, so all his Dom hogging could take a toll on Abby and Chance’s marriage.
Is this the beginning of the end? Could Chance and Abby be headed for divorce after this shared custody agreement starts up?
