The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) exposé will go public, but Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nikki Newman’s (Melody Scott Wilson) scheme will still backfire in some way.
Talia Morgan (Natalie Morales) will publish a scathing story about Diane’s downfall – complete with new details that Phyllis has provided about her past.
Although Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) already knows about Diane’s old transgressions, it’ll still be humiliating and disheartening for Diane to become such a scandal again.
Diane will fret over her Marchetti job and all the dirty looks she’s sure to get around town.
Since Diane will be feeling pretty down in the dumps, she’ll complain to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Talia will completely ignore Diane’s attempt to turn her life around in her exposé, so that’ll leave Diane especially angry about this whole situation.
However, Jack will urge Diane to own what she’s done and avoid playing the victim.
When Diane returned from the dead, she knew she could get negative attention like this.
Jack will remind Diane to rise above the history that keeps getting dredged up and focus on her next chapter.
Despite the tough love, Diane will still feel like she’s getting some sympathy from her former flame.
That should be the silver lining in all this and may help Diane move forward. Diane certainly won’t run out of town with her tail between her legs.
In fact, Diane will get a mysterious text from someone about future articles being killed.
This person will insist that Diane owes him or her, so someone is apparently helping her behind the scenes.
Since Jack will have a little compassion for Diane, Kyle may ultimately have a whole lot.
This could leave Kyle fuming since he just wants Diane to have a chance to redeem herself.
Phyllis will taunt Diane over the published story and leave no doubt in Diane’s mind that she’s responsible along with Nikki.
Kyle and Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) already saw Talia meeting with Nikki and Phyllis, so the truth about that meeting will surely come out.
Summer won’t be happy when she realizes Phyllis lied to her and once again targeted Diane. Could this put Phyllis’ new Marchetti job in jeopardy?
After all, Kyle and Summer were clear about their zero-tolerance policy for troublemakers.
At the very least, Diane might get a pity party while Phyllis gets a lecture.
In the end, Phyllis and Nikki may give Diane the upper hand with Jack, Kyle and even Summer.
By working the “poor Diane” angle, she can perhaps gain an advantage and will certainly have even less of a motive to leave town!
If Phyllis’ Marchetti position winds up at risk, that could put the sabotage plot at risk, too.
