The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) may save Marchetti after Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) plot backfires. Will Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) mom play the hero while her rival suffers?
After Phyllis and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) pitch their big plan during the week of August 1-5, Y&R spoilers say Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will have a bad feeling about it.
Once Ashley hears the latest Diane takedown strategy, she’ll worry the risk of damage is too great.
Phyllis wants to worm her way into Marchetti and frame Diane as a saboteur.
Although Phyllis has the skills to make it seem like Diane is trying to destroy the company, this could become a situation where Phyllis is a little too good at what she does!
Phyllis may lose control of the scheme and actually destroy Marchetti in the process – or at least come close to it.
Ashley will also worry about the damage extending to Jabot, so we should keep her fears in mind since they could come true.
Considering Phyllis’ luck, we won’t be surprised if she’s the reason Marchetti’s about to go under and why Jabot’s reputation takes a hit as a result.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is always finding new reasons to be furious with Phyllis, but Diane is always at the heart of them.
The idea of this plot turning into Phyllis’ massive blunder fits with what we’ve seen so far.
Phyllis’ own Diane sabotage may be exposed and make her the villain of what comes next.
Meanwhile, all this could get even worse for Phyllis if Diane steps up to play the hero.
After all, Diane has a new job in PR and is already quite good at it.
Once Phyllis blows things up, Diane may prove she’s an amazing spin doctor and somehow manage to turn this around.
Jack and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) may end up thanking Diane for saving their family’s business along with the Abbott legacy.
Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) may even turn against Phyllis over this and view Diane as the only one who’s acting sane at this point.
In other words, Phyllis may hand Diane the chance to truly prove herself on a silver platter.
This may be how Diane becomes a real part of the Abbott family again while Phyllis winds up thwarted and shunned.
