The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) could have a promotion headed her way after all the Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) drama winds down. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is paying the price for her role in blowing up Diane’s life and may continue to suffer the consequences of what she’s done.
As of the December 15 episode, Phyllis’ employment at Marchetti has been terminated.
That means Phyllis will no longer be the head of Marchetti Home, so who will fill her old spot?
Summer could hire another character on canvas or even just let someone unknown slide in that role offscreen.
However, we can think of one option that would truly infuriate Phyllis – and that’s Diane!
Although Diane is currently hiding out from Jeremy at the cabin, she won’t have to stay there forever.
In fact, Diane has an amazing Christmas gift headed her way, so that could lead to her Jeremy problems being over soon.
By the time 2023 kicks off on Y&R, Diane might be back at the office. We may see a relieved Diane ready to work with Jeremy finally out of the picture.
Diane now works in PR, but she’s also worked in real estate and previously was an architect.
Perhaps Diane’s unique experience could give her some interesting insight and allow her to put her own spin on Marchetti Home.
It’s not like Phyllis really had the exact experience needed when she took over anyway, but people rarely do when they’re handed jobs in Genoa City!
It’s easy to imagine Diane pitching some brilliant new idea to Kyle regarding Marchetti Home’s future.
Kyle might be so impressed that he suggests letting Diane take over Phyllis’ old spot – at least he could bring up the possibility to Summer.
Naturally, Summer might be wary of making the feud even worse, but another part of her may decide it’s fine since Phyllis has been reluctant to learn any kind of lesson.
This would teach Phyllis a big one and leave her with even more hatred in her heart.
