The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, April 8 Recap – Sally Shows Up During Ashland’s Dirty Work – Adam Extends CEO Reign

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, April 8, teases that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will show up during Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) dirty work – and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will extend his CEO reign for now. Let’s talk about all Friday’s Y&R action.

At home, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will record himself speaking on his phone and ramble about how love is blind.

Billy will talk about how sometimes people believe the illusion of someone they love, even when the whole world sees the truth.

Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will interrupt and realize Billy doesn’t think he’s doing enough to help Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

However, Lily will think this is Victoria’s problem and will believe Victoria has to be the one to handle it.

Lily will get that maybe there’s some lingering part of Billy who still feels responsible for Victoria, but she’ll insist he doesn’t have to be his former flame’s protector.

Billy will assure Lily that this isn’t about romantic feelings, so Lily will clarify that she’s not jealous.

Lily will just want to support Billy since he’s worked so hard to get where he is.

In Victoria’s office, she’ll tell Adam, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that they all have a part to play.

For Victoria’s plan to work, one of them has to fall.

Victoria will explain how she settled on the idea of Adam being the perfect suspect.

Adam will realize Victoria wants to remove Ashland from power by throwing him under the bus.

Victoria will point out that it’d just be for appearances’ sake and that it would stay within the family.

Victoria will want Adam to get on board, but he’ll seem agitated over all the demands.

Next, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will arrive with updates on an obscure clause he found related to activities and behavior of the parties after signing.

Victoria will realize is a moral clause of sorts, but Michael will think the important thing is this gives them grounds to nullify Ashland’s contract.

Adam will realize the plan is to catch Ashland planting evidence for the frame-up and throw him out for it.

For this to properly work, Adam will argue that he should stay on as temporary CEO – that way, he has somewhere to fall and can be fake fired.

Adam will then get a notification on his phone about someone trying to break into his work computer.

Victoria will be pleased over Ashland already taking the bait.

Victor will urge Adam to change the setting and grant Ashland access, so Adam will want to make sure they’re all on the same page.

After Victoria relents on Adam remaining in the CEO spot for now, the plan will officially move forward.

Before Adam heads out, he’ll note that they have to be vigilant until Ashland trips over his own ego.

Adam will also give Victoria an unsettling warning about never underestimating her opponent.

Once Adam’s gone, Victoria will complain about her brother only being interested in hanging onto his shiny new title.

Victoria will rant about Victor giving Adam a taste of power again and will add that Adam has a vested interest in seeing her fail.

Victor will promise to keep Adam in line, so Victoria will acknowledge that her father will try – and she’ll realize she can’t ask for more than that.

At Newman Media, Ashland will score access to Adam’s laptop like the plan calls for.

Ashland will take pics of what’s on the screen before Sally shows up outside the door.

Sally will call out for Adam and wonder why the door’s locked, but Adam will come along and whisk her away – leaving Ashland to finish hacking inside.

At Society, Adam will explain how he’s being dangled as bait for Ashland and will fill Sally in on his temporary CEO extension.

Sally will feel like Adam should be rewarded at the end of all this – at least with Ashland’s vacated co-CEO seat.

If Adam’s family isn’t willing to show him the respect he deserves, Sally will point out there are plenty of ways Victoria’s plan could go wrong.

Suddenly, Nick will show up to make sure they can trust Adam to play his part.

Although Nick will admit he’s seen positive changes in Adam, he’ll still have some trust issues.

Nick will think this is the kind of situation that brings out the worst in Adam, but he’ll truly hope the man Adam aspires to be shows up and sees the big picture.

Nick will push Adam to do what’s right for the sake of their family.

At Crimson Lights, Ashland will run into Michael and play dumb about his Peru problems.

After Ashland insists he’s going to get setup proof, Michael will suggest he’s dying to see how this turns out.

Later, Victoria will find Ashland on the patio. She’ll admit there’s some bad news since Victor is keeping Adam on as temporary CEO.

Victoria will try to spin it as something that can work to their advantage and will insist her family knows she’s not backing down.

Ashland will thank Victoria for believing in him and won’t be ready to divulge the ideas he’s working on just yet.

Back at Newman-Locke, Nikki will worry about the possibility of Ashland catching on.

Nikki will also fret over Victoria’s emotional well-being since their daughter has to carry out this awful charade.

Victor will promise he won’t let any harm come to Victoria, so Nikki will admit she already knows that.

Although Victor will respect and admire Victoria for taking the lead, he’ll know they all have to come together to defeat Ashland.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victoria’s scheme will remain a risky one, so stay tuned to see the twists and turns ahead.
