The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, August 12, teases that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will want a Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) bio mom reveal while Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) exposes Imani Benedict’s (Leigh-Ann Rose) trick.
At Chancellor-Winters, Chelsea will call Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) out for dragging his feet on Johnny and Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) playdate. Billy will insist there’s a lot going on and won’t get why Chelsea is being so pushy about this.
Chelsea will argue that Johnny is her biological son, but she doesn’t get to see him or spend any time with him. After Billy reminds Chelsea of their agreement, Chelsea will contend that she’s a different person now and will think Johnny should be part of her life.
Since Johnny already knows Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) adopted him, Chelsea will wonder if it’d really be so terrible if he knew she was his biological mother. Once Chelsea pushes for the boys to develop a connection, Billy will agree to have a conversation with Victoria and get back to her.
At Society, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will spot Sally, so they’ll talk about rescheduling the meeting to get Elena out of her contract. Sally won’t remember any meeting at all and will show off her phone to prove there was nothing on the books.
Nate will make the pitch to let Elena out of her contract anyway and will write a figure down as a financial incentive. After Sally looks at the number, she’ll wish Elena luck and agree to sign the papers later today.
Back at Chancellor-Winters, Elena will urge Nate to see that Imani never invited Sally – that she wanted it to be an intimate evening with Nate alone. Nate will act like Elena just thinks the worst of Imani, but Elena will wonder if maybe Nate isn’t seeing the real her because he doesn’t want to.
That’ll leave Nate wondering if Elena thinks he’s attracted to Imani. Elena will deny it, but she’ll feel like Nate likes getting his ego stroked by someone telling him what he wants to hear.
At Society again on Friday’s Y&R episode, Chelsea will join Billy for lunch so they can discuss podcast ideas. That’ll give Chelsea a chance to cross paths with Sally and push her buttons over her breakup with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Once Sally makes it back to her office, she’ll text Adam to remind him that her offer still stands. Sally will vow to tell Adam what she knows regarding Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) death if he’ll admit the truth about their breakup.
As for Chelsea, she’ll suggest that Billy has a habit of living up to his family’s expectations until he can’t take it anymore and rebels.
Billy will act like he’s past the rebelling stage, but Chelsea will ask if he’s really fulfilled being part of Chancellor-Winters. When Billy struggles to respond honestly, Chelsea will think the answer is no.
On the GCAC rooftop, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will pitch the idea of Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) being the new face of Marchetti while her voice recovers. Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will listen to what Kyle has to say and decide she’s on board.
Soon after, Kyle and Summer will approach Tessa while she’s with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) at Crimson Lights. Tessa will get the modeling offer, but she’ll hesitate to accept since it’s a reminder of what she’s losing.
After Mariah, Kyle and Summer insist this is the perfect time to branch out, Tessa will agree to consider this amazing opportunity.
Once Summer and Kyle leave, Tessa will continue to use her phone’s robotic voice and will accuse Mariah of setting this up. Mariah will eventually admit she did, but Tessa will plant a kiss after deciding she’s too in love to be mad.
