The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, January 14, tease that Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) behavior will scare Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) while Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) gets ready to strike. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will also drop a bomb on Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) that she isn’t going to like one bit.
First, Abby will battle growing concerns about Chance’s mental state. There may be another moment where Chance zones out and completely misses Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Rainn and River Ware) cries on the baby monitor.
Chance got by with pretending he was asleep the first time, but Abby may think there’s more to the story if this keeps up. She might sense that Chance is once again holding back when it comes to his traumatic past and everything he’s been through.
Chance may even have a nightmare that shakes him up this time around, but he’ll remain reluctant to open up much to Abby. He’ll hate the idea of piling more problems on Abby, but she’ll think Chance needs help to work through his feelings.
It’s not a good idea for Chance to keep bottling up all his emotions, so Abby will suggest maybe he should talk to a professional. If Chance doesn’t want to confide in his wife, maybe he should speak with someone whose expertise is helping people like him work through trauma.
As for Devon, he’ll feel he has no choice but to prepare for war. Devon wishes there had been another option, but he believes fighting for legal shared custody is the only way to increase his presence in Dominic’s life.
Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will talk Devon through the next steps and how all this will go down. She’ll have total confidence in her skills as an attorney, but Devon will still worry about how Chance and Abby are going to take the news. It’s safe to say Abby will be especially upset and outraged over Devon’s decision.
Speaking of being upset and outraged, that’s how Chelsea will feel as the week winds down. Despite seemingly making progress with Adam on Thursday’s show, Friday’s episode could send Chelsea crashing back down to reality.
Adam may feel the need to remind Chelsea that they have to remain friends, colleagues and co-parents. He’s willing to spend time with Chelsea casually, but he won’t want her to think having a drink together means they’re reuniting.
Adam might also mention turning down Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) New York invitation and infuriate Chelsea even further. Chelsea won’t be ready to throw in the towel when it comes to Adam, but she’ll definitely have a sour taste in her mouth after his bombshell.
Y&R spoilers say Chelsea will pour herself a drink when she gets home and fling it against the wall in a fit of frustration. However, it probably won’t be long until Chelsea calms down and decides she just has to get her head back in the game!
