The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, January 21 Recap – Devon Changes Dominic’s Name – Victoria’s Shocking Lawsuit

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, January 21, teases that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will want to change Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Rainn and River Ware) name while Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) makes plans for a shocking lawsuit. Here’s what Y&R fans can expect in Friday’s exciting show.

After Devon and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) arrive at the Chancellor mansion, they’ll join Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell), Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd).

Abby will admit they’re ready to accept Devon’s conditions since Chance helped her see there was nothing to be afraid of.

Devon will be glad to avoid a court battle since that wasn’t what he wanted. He’ll insist he loves Dominic as well as Chance and Abby, so he’ll act like they’re a team on all this.

Abby will point out that this isn’t about backing down from a fight or giving in. “This is what you and Dominic deserve,” Abby will insist.

After Devon says he has one more request, he’ll note that he’d like to give the baby Neil Winters’ (Kristoff St. John) last name.

Devon will point out that Neil was Abby’s godfather. He’ll think it’d be a great way to honor the man who showed him what being a father’s all about.

Devon will suggest Dominic Philip Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor, so Chance will insist that sounds perfect. After Dom starts crying in the other room, Abby will bring him in and suggest he should be part of this.

Devon will hold Dominic as he talks about spending more time together and how Dom’s name will get a little longer.

Before Devon leaves, Abby will tell him that he’s a great friend and a wonderful parent.

Abby will be sorry for losing sight of that and will swear it’s never going to happen again.

Devon will give Abby a hug before heading home with Amanda, who’ll plan to file the paperwork ASAP.

That’ll leave Devon concerned about Chance and Abby changing their minds, but Amanda will offer reassurance.

Amanda will think Devon should revel in this turn of events, so he’ll look forward to being a real parent to Dominic in his home once a week.

Back with Chance, he’ll worry he might’ve pushed Abby into something she didn’t want to do.

Abby will still seem rather uneasy, but she’ll know this is what’s best for Dominic.

Abby will plan to embrace the new normal and help Chance find his emotional footing so they can be the family they were meant to be.

In Victoria’s office, she’ll be rather distracted as she talks to Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi). V

ictoria will admit that when Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) ran his mouth recently, it reminded her that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was unpredictable.

Victoria will feel like you can never let your guard down with her father.

Ashland will agree and point out that Victoria is the only person he trusts completely. He’ll hope Victoria feels the same about him.

Victoria will contend that she’s always going to trust Ashland until he gives her a reason not to. She’ll excuse the secrets of the past and look forward to having more time together.

Victoria will still want to acquire Newman Media, but she’ll think they need a new strategy.

Victoria will talk about how they need to make Victor think this is all his idea. Ashland will realize they’re going back to the original plan of making Adam fail.

Victoria will confirm that step one is suing for the name “Newman Media.”

Victoria will think they can argue that there shouldn’t be a Newman entity that isn’t under the Newman-Locke umbrella.

Victoria will want to cause so many headaches and tie up the lawyers – hopefully distracting Adam in the process.

Then, it’ll be time for step two, but Victoria won’t share what that is just yet.

While Victor and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) are discussing his more active role at Newman Media, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) will arrive.

Victor won’t be mad at all when he learns Noah has decided to work for New Hope instead of Newman Media.

Victor will agree there’s nothing better than working with your father.

At Crimson Lights, Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will urge Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) not to keep her in suspense.

Lauren will want to know how Michael’s meeting with Victor went, so he’ll admit Victor made a compelling argument.

Lauren will help Michael work out the pros and cons of accepting Victor’s new job, but she’ll sense that he’s really excited about it.

After Michael alludes to Victor having a particular concern, he’ll head back to the ranch to talk terms.

Victor will dazzle Michael with a substantial monetary offer and once again promise not to overwork him – though he’ll still expect Michael to earn his pay.

Until Michael can make his DA resignation official, Victor will see no reason why Michael can’t work for him unofficially. Michael will admit he’s eager to hear what Victor has in mind.

At the coffeehouse again, Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will be thrilled over Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) engagement news.

Tessa and Mariah will call Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) to bring her in the loop, so she’ll be eager to help plan the wedding.

Noah will be taken aback when he overhears Tessa talking about asking Mariah to marry her.

After Mariah and Tessa recap the proposal to Noah and Nick, Sharon will look concerned over how Noah’s taking the updates.

After Noah excuses himself to grab some coffee at the counter, Tessa will eventually join him. Noah will seem glum, but he’ll tell Tessa that he’s happy for her as well as Mariah.

Tessa will want Noah to be happy too and will be excited to hear about him working with Nick at New Hope.

Sharon will witness Noah’s exchange with Tessa, so she’ll worry to Nick that Noah has fallen in love with Tessa again. Nick will think that’s a little extreme, though he’ll admit Noah told him about his feelings resurfacing.

Sharon will feel sorry for Noah and all the heartbreak he keeps having to endure, but Nick will think the new job’s going to be great for him.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Noah will try to concentrate on the future, so stay tuned to see how that works out.
