The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, July 8, reveals that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will want Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to crash and burn. Meanwhile, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will get a chance to expose Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) cancer scam on his anonymous podcast.
At Newman Enterprises, Victoria will get settled back in her office with framed photos and her old nameplate on the door.
After Victoria’s portrait goes back up, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will admire it and accept an offer to resume her co-CEO role.
Victoria will be hopeful about Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) rejoining the family business, but Nikki will worry that Adam could be a dangerous wildcard.
However, Victoria will insist Adam is simply white noise to her now and will add that he’s nothing to lose sleep over.
After Adam warns Billy not to push him, he’ll storm out of Society – leaving Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) to question what she just witnessed.
Billy will want to talk about Chelsea and Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) issues instead, so Chelsea will reveal how it all worked out.
Chelsea will share news about taking a step back from fashion and will credit Billy with helping her find a path forward.
In return, Chelsea will offer to be a sounding board for Billy’s podcast and push it along creatively.
Billy will reject the idea at first, but he’ll ultimately admit that his audience is plateauing and will think he could perhaps use some help.
After Billy says he’ll get back to Chelsea, she’ll think this is going to be fun and will leave him to meet with Victoria.
On her way out, Chelsea will gaze back at Billy and seem pleased.
Next, Victoria will want Billy to do her a favor by exposing Ashland’s cancer scam on The Grinning Soul.
Billy will point out that it’d also mean revealing what Ashland did to Victoria, but she’ll think it’ll be worth it if it closes all the doors on Ashland and prevents him from scamming someone else.
In the park, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will consider replying to Chloe’s text with an admission about things being up in the air regarding the job offer.
In the end, Sally will delete what she typed out and call Adam instead.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will overhear Sally leaving a voicemail for Adam about his next move, so he’ll think it sounds like they’re made for each other.
Sally will want Jack’s opinion on whether she should be freaking out and will fill him in on the situation now that Victoria’s back.
Jack will sense that Sally is concerned both for Adam and herself.
Sally will admit she doesn’t know what to think or how to feel now that all their dreams might be taken away.
That said, Adam is the one thing Sally will be sure about since he truly gets her, believes her and trusts her.
Jack will hear the love in Sally’s voice and will express his approval over her relationship with Adam.
Before Jack goes, he’ll warn Sally that Adam is at his most unpredictable when he feels emotionally wounded.
Jack will note that Adam’s overreactions can be dangerous and that he rarely considers the collateral damage, so he’ll want Sally to take care of herself.
After Nick updates Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) on Victoria setting Ashland up, they’ll talk about what it means for Adam.
Once the conversation shifts to Nick potentially returning to Newman Enterprises, he’ll admit Nikki thinks Victoria might want him as COO.
Sharon will take Nick to the park for fresh air and will help him work through the pros and cons of a Newman comeback.
Nick will think it sounds like Sharon supports this return, so she’ll confess that Nick’s older and wiser now.
Sharon won’t believe Newman Enterprises will change Nick and will believe he could be the one to change his environment instead.
After Sharon suggests this could be the most fulfilling thing Nick’s ever done, she’ll think he’s already made his decision to go back.
Nick will feel like Sharon is right – and he’ll feel like it’s the right decision, too.
Once Ashland’s spy texts him about Adam’s fight with Billy, Ashland will approach Adam on the Crimson Lights patio.
Ashland will claim he’s back to pick up some personal belongings, but Adam will guess that Victoria might’ve put them out on the curb by now.
That’ll give Ashland an opportunity to point out Adam must feel kicked to the curb as well.
Ashland will push Adam’s buttons about Victoria playing the game and making the kind of deal Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) himself might’ve pulled off.
Adam will question if Ashland is back for revenge, so Ashland will suspect that’s what Adam wants, too.
After Ashland highlights their similar situations and says they both want the same thing, he’ll tell Adam to have a nice day and take off.
Later, Adam will find Sally at Newman Media and tell her about his encounter with Billy as well as his run-in with Ashland.
Since Ashland implied that they both wanted Victoria stripped of everything, Adam will suggest she could make costly mistakes if she feels she’s under attack.
Adam will think maybe he could help move things along and will reveal that he’s done trying to prove to Victor that he’s worthy.
All Adam will want now is to watch his sister crash and burn.
Adam will add that he wants to see Victor go down with Victoria, so he’ll feel like Ashland is right about them wanting the same thing.
Y&R spoilers say Sally will look concerned over Adam’s vengeful comments.
Back on the coffeehouse patio, Nikki will corner Jack and complain about how neutral he’s being regarding Diane.
Nevertheless, Nikki will admit she now has her own family on her mind, so Jack will hope Victoria can put this whole Ashland nightmare behind her.
Once Ashland returns to his suite at the athletic club, he’ll slam the door and throw the keycard down.
Ashland will grip his head and breathe heavily in frustration, so he’ll still be seething over what Victoria did to him.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victoria will need to watch her back as threats swirl around her, so stick with Y&R.
