The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, June 24 Recap – Adam’s Press Conference – Victor Cuts Victoria’s Venture Funding

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, June 24, tease that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will have a big press conference before Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) works to cut the funding for Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) venture.

At Newman Enterprises, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will be a bit nervous ahead of the livestream, but Adam will seem confident.

Meanwhile, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will tell Victor that he found Victoria and Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) at a hotel in New York.

Victor will also get updates on Ashland and Victoria meeting with a high-end real estate broker, so Victor will assume they’re seeking office space to start a new company.

Once Victor heads to Adam’s office, Sally will give them a moment alone to talk.

Adam will assure Victor that he plans to impress him on the throne and make the most of this opportunity.

Victor will shake Adam’s hand and let him know that he’s banking on that.

In New York, Victoria will speak with Ashland about the announcement regarding her successor.

After Victoria insists she’s going to be glued to her tablet, she’ll acknowledge that she expected Victor to use Adam like this.

Although Victoria will act unbothered, she’ll call Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) while Ashland’s getting changed in the other room.

Victoria will mention being in New York and probably not having time to watch Adam’s press conference.

Once Victoria brings up meeting with some new investors to see if they’ll bankroll a new venture, Nick will ask if these are connections of Ashland’s.

Victoria will admit their hers mostly, so Nick will assume Victoria wants a company that will directly compete against Newman.

After Victoria claims she didn’t call to talk business, she’ll get off the phone in a hurry.

At the Abbott house on Friday’s Y&R episode, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will quiz Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) about how things are going with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).

Kyle will confess that part of him wants to let Diane all the way in, but another part of him remembers the pain of the past and has trouble trusting her completely.

After Kyle expresses concern about whatever went down with Jack, Diane and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), his dad will downplay the drama.

Jack will assure Kyle that he’d tell him if Diane were back to her old tricks.

In the park, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will drag Phyllis to meet with Diane and call a truce.

Phyllis will act like it’s a struggle to hold back, but she’ll plaster on a smile and insist she’s done dwelling on the things Diane did to her.

Once Phyllis confirms she wants a truce, Diane will offer gratitude and express surprise over Phyllis reaching this level of maturity.

Phyllis will end up taking off with Summer before she can let Diane push her too far.

Next, the press conference will get underway.

Victor will kick things off by talking about the wonderful job Victoria did, but he’ll note that she decided to step away for personal reasons.

Once Victor names Adam the new CEO of Newman Enterprises, he’ll declare his son the right person for the job.

Ashland will mock Adam’s speech as he watches with Victoria in their New York hotel, but Victoria will seem a little irritated.

After Adam delivers the news about Sally being the CEO of Newman Media, Victoria will decide she’s done watching and will head to her meeting with Ashland.

While Adam hypes up Sally, Nick will get Victor to step outside with him.

Once Nick mentions what he learned from Victoria, he’ll talk about the difficult position he’s in.

Nick will want Victoria to feel like she can tell him things, but he also won’t want her to get any further enmeshed with Ashland.

Back at the Abbott mansion, Diane will stop by to thank Jack and Kyle.

Although Diane will suggest they must’ve had a hand in Phyllis’ change of heart, Kyle will insist Summer was behind that.

Summer will text Kyle to meet her at The Grand Phoenix, so he’ll excuse himself and head over there.

That’ll give Diane a chance to work a new angle and act like Phyllis is trying to impress Jack with her latest move.

Diane will suggest Phyllis is using her to make amends with Jack, but she’ll promise she has no intention of kicking the hornet’s nest.

In The Grand Phoenix lobby, Summer will let Phyllis know how proud she is.

Phyllis will insist she doesn’t want negativity in Summer’s life and will argue that she’d do anything for her.

Afterward, Jack will receive a text from Phyllis, who’ll admit that she’s back in town. Phyllis will ask Jack if they can talk, so he’ll seem pensive.

Once Kyle joins Summer at the hotel, he’ll praise her for Phyllis and Diane’s truce.

Kyle will also admit he’s thinking of hiring Diane at Marchetti and will want to know how Summer would feel about that.

Summer’s concern will be for Kyle and whether he’s ready to let Diane build a permanent life this close to him.

Kyle won’t know if his scars will ever fade, but he’ll admit he can’t send Diane away without trying. Summer will decide they’ll do just their best and see what happens.

In Adam’s office again, Sally will read comments from social media and suggest the tone is positive overall.

Adam will pull out a gift for Sally to celebrate the occasion, so she’ll admit she got him something, too.

Sally will hand over a bottle of their favorite scotch – the one Adam introduced her to once upon a time.

As Adam and Sally marvel at being on top of the world now, they’ll prepare to make love.

After their investor meeting, Victoria and Ashland will be excited over how things went.

That said, Victoria will point out that they have enough money to start this venture themselves.

Although Victoria will like the idea of total control, Ashland will note that they’d be taking all the risk by themselves.

Victoria will still think there’s something appealing about taking on the world together.

Once Victor summons Michael to Newman Enterprises, he’ll talk about the investors that Ashland and Victoria have turned to.

Victor will tell Michael that Victoria and Ashland want to launch a new company.

Michael will then get orders to find out who these people are and approach them discreetly.

Victor will want Michael to convince them not to spend a dime on whatever venture Ashland has in mind.
