The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, May 27, tease that Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) secret weapon will be Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) – Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will face a roadblock on her path forward. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will also warn Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), so here’s what Y&R fans can expect.
For starters, Phyllis will be desperate for a plan to tackle her Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) problem.
Since Summer is married to Kyle – the object of Diane’s maternal affection and devotion – Phyllis will think her daughter is in the prime position to help.
Phyllis will feel like Summer can serve as her secret weapon, so she’ll work to recruit her.
Summer may hear a takedown pitch as Phyllis obsesses over getting Diane out of town.
However, Summer may warn Phyllis that she won’t intentionally drive Diane out of Kyle’s life.
Although that would be Summer’s preferred outcome, she doesn’t want Kyle to feel like she’s pressuring him.
That said, Summer can certainly keep reminding Kyle to be careful and not get swept up in some fantasy of what his mother should be.
Even if Summer isn’t willing to help in the way Phyllis wants, she could still be of assistance.
As for Jack, he’ll deliver a warning to Kyle and try to offer protection.
Although Jack will respect Kyle’s decision to give Diane another chance, he won’t want his son to be disappointed or hurt.
Jack will urge Kyle to keep his guard up and remember that he can change his mind if Diane’s behavior doesn’t line up with her promises.
Kyle may assure Jack that he understands and is going into this relationship with his eyes wide open.
Over with Chelsea, she’ll hit a stumbling block as she tries to move on.
That could tie in with Chelsea’s feelings for Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) if there’s some reminder that plunges her back into a state of despair.
Chelsea will keep working toward a brighter future, but there’ll be some moments of misery along the way.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chelsea will have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and cope with her latest crisis.
