The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that there’s a Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) kidnapping risk to consider. Dangerous Grandma Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) could be a threat, so both Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) need to stay on guard.
Of course, Kyle doesn’t know he needs to be worried just yet. Jack will put up a fight when it comes to telling Kyle the truth about his back-from-the-dead mother, but Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will offer a surprising perspective.
Kyle isn’t a kid who needs Daddy to protect him anymore. That’s always going to be Jack’s instinct, but Kyle is a grown man who deserves to decide for himself whether he wants Diane in his life.
That could be a tough decision considering how much pain Diane’s fake death caused. Kyle will also have to decide if Diane will be part of the picture for Harrison, so there’ll be a lot to mull over.
However, it might be wise to surrender to Diane and let her have at least some contact. If Kyle tries to push Diane away, it’s only going to make her more determined to change that.
Perhaps the best thing Kyle could do is let Diane get to know Harrison – even if those visits are supervised. Otherwise, Diane might resort to drastic measures.
Y&R fans know Diane has plenty of regrets about the past and might view Harrison as a clean slate. If Kyle bans Diane from Harrison, could she kidnap her grandson to start over and raise him herself?
That’s a risk with someone like Diane, who’s a wildcard and capable of anything. By giving Diane a little time with her grandchild, it might make her less likely to do anything too outrageous – like snatching Harrison and taking off with him.
In other words, it’s in Kyle’s best interest to open his heart just a crack and let Diane see Harrison, too. Kyle and Jack will definitely need to proceed with caution, but it’s wise to keep someone like Diane close. That way, it’s easier to keep an eye on her!
