The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) seems to be headed for a messy love triangle. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will likely fight for the man they both want, so we should talk about the battle that’s brewing.
Y&R fans know Phyllis likes to pretend romance is off the table with Jack. Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) isn’t buying that, but Phyllis has convinced herself that friendship is all that’s on the table now.
Of course, Phyllis and Jack’s relationship has been deepening lately.
Jack doesn’t know what he would’ve done without Phyllis to lean on during all the Keemo Nguyen (Philip Moon) drama out in Los Angeles.
Now Phyllis is helping Jack with his tricky Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) situation, so every episode seems to bring them closer.
Jack and Phyllis are clearly going to veer back in romantic territory if this keeps up.
However, Diane’s return is a gamechanger that gives Jack another potential romantic option.
The show is bringing back Jack’s former flame and Phyllis’ old rival for a reason.
Considering how much work Diane has put into this Allie plot, it’s reasonable to assume she still has feelings for Jack and will ultimately try to win him back.
This is quite the twist of fate since Jack went without a love interest for so long. Now Jack has two women who’ll inevitably clash over him in the months ahead.
Will Y&R stick with Phyllis as Jack’s main love interest and make Diane the interloper who causes problems?
Could Diane actually stand a chance at reuniting with Jack and making things work?
Time will tell, but Diane will certainly cause a serious stir with her reentrance to Jack and Phyllis’ lives.
Although Diane will pretend to play nice early on, you can bet the claws will come out between Diane and Phyllis eventually!
