The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) could land on the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) murder suspect list. Kyle could come home just in time to get stuck in some deadly drama, so let’s consider how things might play out.
There have been some hints about Ashland potentially heading for a fatal exit door. Way too many characters have been vowing to “get rid of” Ashland – and that could be setting the stage for a major murder mystery.
If that’s the case, the timing is interesting since Kyle is on the verge of returning to Genoa City. The more suspects Y&R writers can include here, the better!
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) intends to reveal Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) survival, so he’s lured Kyle to GC as part of that plan. Kyle is going to bring Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) back with him – and that could lead to trouble as the walls close in on Ashland.
It’s clear that Ashland still loves Harrison since Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has repeatedly used the kid to push Ashland’s buttons. With Harrison in town and Ashland running out of options, there’s a kidnapping risk to consider.
Of course, that could give Kyle a motive if Ashland turns up dead! Kyle and Ashland have a contentious history anyway, so the cops will no doubt want to take a close look at Kyle if a murder investigation kicks off.
This would give Diane a good way to bond with her beloved son. Diane could believe in Kyle’s innocence and help him fight to prove it. That might even give Diane and Jack a reason to reconnect – much to Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) dismay!
If there was ever a character to put at the center of a murder mystery, it’s Ashland. Let’s hope Y&R moves full-speed ahead on that plan and follows through on the clues they’ve offered.
