The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is being set up for a horrible downfall. This doomed merger could break Lily’s bond with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and put her romance with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) on the rocks.
When Lily first took over as the CEO of Chancellor Industries, she approached the role with trepidation.
Lily felt unqualified and knew she had big shoes to fill, but Billy kept insisting she was a rockstar who would do great.
Over time, Lily has embraced the idea that she’s indeed got what it takes to succeed.
However, Lily’s growing confidence spells trouble. Just look at this situation that’s been happening with Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle).
Victoria was brimming with confidence before the cracks in her relationship with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) were revealed.
Victoria’s arrogant attitude was a tell-tale sign of the downfall that was brewing – and now we’re seeing the signs of that downfall playing out onscreen.
Lily may not be as smug about her newfound power, but she does have a lot of confidence for someone who was so unsure not too long ago.
The fact that Lily feels so certain about this merger is also a giant warning sign.
On the March 21 episode, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will decide to move forward with the deal after Lily assures him no amount of corporate friction could ever come between them.
Later, Lily will feel like that reassurance was the clencher. She’ll act like her bond with Devon is unbreakable.
It just feels like the writing’s on the wall for Lily and Devon’s relationship to be totally blown to smithereens.
The easiest way for that to happen is if this merger crashes and burns.
That could also lead to plenty of fighting with Billy once Lily is stressed to the max.
Lily and Billy have been coasting along for quite some time, so they’re overdue for some drama.
Billy’s storyline has become all about how Lily’s love saved him, but what happens if their romance falls apart?
Will Billy still be able to stay on the right path?
Whatever the case, it looks like Lily is next in line for a downfall following Victoria – and the results could be catastrophic!
