The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) may be given a secret assignment to take down Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and face Newman pressure on this new project.
Following Diane’s return, Michael was the first person in town who showed her genuine kindness and didn’t immediately judge her for her mistakes. Diane appreciates having some form of a friendship and considers Michael to be in her corner.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) wasn’t happy about this little alliance and called Michael out on it, but he was quick to stand his ground. Michael knows what it’s like to turn his life around and find a better path forward, so he’s willing to give Diane the benefit of the doubt.
However, Michael could find himself torn soon due to his Newman loyalty. During the week of June 13-17, Y&R spoilers say Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will hope to get Michael on board with a new assignment.
We’ll see Nikki work hard to recruit Michael, who may put up a fight if this involves Diane’s takedown. Nikki and Phyllis are going to team up on a new plot, so Phyllis could easily suggest using Michael to their advantage.
Since Phyllis knows Diane seems to let her guard down around Michael, she might think they should enlist him as a secret weapon. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) hates Diane almost as much as Nikki and certainly wants rid of her as well, so he may support this idea wholeheartedly.
What will Michael do once he’s facing all this Newman pressure? Michael might refuse to destroy Diane without a good reason, but there’s the potential for a compromise.
Maybe Michael will vow to monitor Diane’s activities and report back. That way, if Diane is truly causing problems and not living up to her claims of being a changed woman, Michael can expose her.
In other words, Michael might only agree to take Diane down if she proves she’s worthy of destruction. Whatever the case, Michael could be conflicted as he potentially carries out his next mission.
