The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, August 1, teases that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will blast Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) over a Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) blunder while Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) punishment for Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) causes drama.
At the Abbott house, Jack will admit he was impressed with how Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) handled things with Harrison earlier.
Jack will also be glad Harrison had that final moment in the park with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) to hopefully make a memory that’ll last.
Since Harrison will want to play in the park, Diane will suggest Jack should tag along.
Although Jack will point out he’s expected at the office, Diane will think Harrison can change Jack’s mind.
At the park, Phyllis will tell Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) about her current situation with Jack and how they exchanged angry love declarations.
Diane will eventually interrupt and bring up Ashland, so Phyllis will hear about how she comforted Harrison over his death.
Phyllis will launch a tirade about Diane using Harrison’s heartbreak to worm her way back into the Abbott family.
After Phyllis trashes Diane for abandoning Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), she’ll argue that she was there for the fallout and helped Kyle deal with Diane’s lies.
As things get heated on both sides, Phyllis will refuse to believe Diane is now some virtuous grandmother.
Suddenly, Jack will intervene and point out that Harrison is nearby playing on the swings.
Phyllis will admit she didn’t know as Jack rants about how Harrison could’ve heard every word.
While Diane is off buying Harrison a treat, Summer will assure Jack that Harrison probably wasn’t paying attention – and even if he was, she’ll think they can smooth things over.
Jack will still be riled up as he ultimately speaks with Phyllis alone and calls her out for not sticking to the Diane truce.
Phyllis won’t get why Diane gets forgiven for everything while she faces a zero-tolerance policy instead.
Jack will contend that he’ll never trust Diane completely.
Although Jack will admit Phyllis is the most interesting, captivating and beautiful person he’s ever met, he’ll be stuck on the fact that she can’t get past this feud with Diane.
Phyllis will wonder why that seems to trump everything, so Jack will insist the stakes are too high.
Jack won’t be willing to let Kyle, Summer and Harrison get caught in the crossfire – no matter how much he loves Phyllis.
On the GCAC rooftop, Devon will sense that something is weighing on Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) following their return from Virginia.
Amanda will worry that Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) doesn’t really have everything under control like she claimed.
In fact, Amanda will suggest maybe she shouldn’t have left.
At the same time, Amanda will feel like the newcomer to the family and will fear Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) might resent her for putting Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) in prison now.
Devon will assure Amanda that’s not the case and point out that Amanda should return if her heart’s there with her mom.
Although Amanda will express concern over her job, Devon will think they can make it work – and the same goes for a long-distance romance.
After Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) takes an earlier flight home and surprises Nate at the office, they’ll head home to make love and catch up.
When Elena learns Imani wasn’t able to get her out of her Newman contract yet, she’ll seem pleased at the idea of Amanda doing it instead.
At Chancellor-Winters, Devon will find a folder containing some festival info and confront Nate once he heads back to work.
There’ll be a performer that Nate booked for a festival in Chicago thinking he had Devon’s approval.
Devon will argue that nobody signed off on that and will complain since he already booked the same performer for the same dates in Los Angeles. Nate will come up with some easy solutions, but Devon will think this makes them look stupid and incompetent.
Since this is the second time Nate overstepped authority and forced damage control, Devon will have concerns moving forward.
When Devon suggests getting a mentor, Nate will rant about how he doesn’t need supervision like some kid fresh out of school.
Amanda will walk in and witness the tension, but Nate will simply ask if Imani got any further with Elena’s contract.
Since Amanda won’t know for sure, Nate will decide to get in touch with Imani himself.
In the hallway, Nate will text Imani before she texts back asking if he has time to talk.
Soon after, Nate will smile while he’s on the phone and insist it’s good to hear Imani’s voice, too.
Back at home on Monday’s Y&R episode, Elena will be busy putting souvenirs from Hawaii on Nate’s pillow.
At Crimson Lights, Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) will present Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) with a care package and balloons following her surgery.
Tessa won’t be able to speak, so Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will explain how she’s on complete vocal rest right now.
Faith will give Tessa a whiteboard that she can use to communicate, so Tessa will be grateful.
After some talk about Tessa’s canceled tour and recovery plans, she’ll take a nap upstairs.
Later, Mariah will be in a booth when Kyle arrives and gets updates on the procedure going well.
Kyle will also fill Mariah in on the Ashland news and how Diane helped with Harrison.
After Kyle admits he told Harrison about Diane being his grandmother, Mariah will note that it was a big step.
Kyle will know that Diane can’t erase the past, but he’ll think being there for Harrison is about as close as his mom can get.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will keep working hard to rebuild her relationship with Kyle, but you can bet Phyllis will work just as hard to get in the way!
