The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, August 15, teases that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will use a Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) and Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) story to rile Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). A security team mistake will also lead to trouble, so let’s talk about what’s ahead on Y&R.
At the ranch, Victor will find Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) complaining to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about the cover-up, but he’ll warn against Nick’s usual self-righteous indignation.
Meanwhile, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) will find Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) at Crimson Lights, where he’ll reveal that he recovered and rebuilt the missing security footage.
That footage will confirm that the car at the gas station indeed belonged to Ashland Locke (Robert Newman).
Although Chance and Kevin won’t be able to make out the face of the person who got behind the wheel, they’ll see that he tossed a cigarette butt and covered his tracks.
Kevin will mention that one of Victor’s guards is a smoker, so Chance will hope this is enough.
Next, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) will return from dorm shopping, so Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will marvel over everything they bought.
Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will also arrive at the coffeehouse following her doctor’s appointment, so she’ll admit she’s been cleared to talk a little.
Mariah will be thrilled for Tessa and will mention overseeing Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) in PR now before dashing off.
After Faith leaves to meet Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines), Tessa will open up to Sharon about her fear that she won’t be able to sing again.
Sharon will think it’s natural to be scared, but she’ll want to stay positive and will convince Tessa to take the Marchetti modeling job.
At Society, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will treat Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) to lunch on her first day of work and will offer a reminder to stay away from Diane.
Over with Diane and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), they’ll bond as they watch Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) play in the park.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will come along and seem weirded out over how well his parents are getting along.
At Jabot later, Kyle and Diane will join Phyllis, Summer and Mariah. After Phyllis and Diane are fake nice to each other, Mariah will comment on everybody being one big happy family.
While Mariah is meeting with Diane, Phyllis will sign the paperwork and officially become a Marchetti employee.
Phyllis will once again claim she’s not going to cause problems, but she’ll text Nikki and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) about getting this party started.
At Newman Enterprises, Abby will bring Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) a care package from Society and wonder how she’s holding up.
Victoria will assume Abby knows more than she’s letting on when it comes to Ashland.
After Victoria recaps the horrible night, Abby will seem sympathetic to her sister’s ordeal.
Victoria will act like the car accident was legit and wonder what Chance really hopes to gain by investigating this further.
Abby will hate that Victoria isn’t getting the closure she needs, so Victoria will hope Abby can convince Chance that they need to put this behind them.
At the ranch again, Chance will show Victor the security footage that was recovered and point out that someone who wasn’t Ashland literally covered his tracks.
Since the cops still have the dropped cigarette butt, Chance will note that they’re going to check it for DNA.
Chance will also point out that the cigarette was the same brand that Victor’s security guard smokes.
After Victor suggests that cigarette butt could’ve been dropped anytime, Chance will counter that it hadn’t been there long.
Victor will urge Chance to see that he’s wasting his time on this investigation, but Chance won’t think uncovering the truth is ever a waste of time.
That’ll lead to Victor trying another angle in hopes of making Chance back off.
Victor will remind Chance that Abby faced a similar ordeal with Stitch before Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) was born – back when Chance wasn’t around to protect his family.
After Victor presents a hypothetical situation where Abby might’ve killed Stitch to protect her life and her unborn child, he’ll wonder what Chance would’ve done if he stepped in.
Chance will argue that he’s bringing facts and evidence to the table.
Since Victor will be talking about an irrelevant hypothetical, Chance will refuse to even answer his question.
Once Chance starts ranting about his oath as a cop, Victor will argue that he should develop a greater sense of family.
Chance will angrily point his finger at Victor during their confrontation, but Victor will warn “Chance old boy” not to do that next time.
Victor will then dismiss Chance and tell him to give his love to Abby. In the park afterward, Chance will look frustrated and pensive over the case.
At Crimson Lights, Nick will admit Sharon knows everything, so Nikki won’t be pleased about the secret spillage.
After Nick talks about the burden of being responsible for Ashland’s death, Nikki will insist he did nothing wrong.
Nick will contend that they’re all accessories to Victor’s crime before Victor summons him to the ranch along with Nikki.
Victoria will come as well, so Victor will announce that Chance made a discovery – one that his security team will pay dearly for.
Nick will just want to know how much Chance has learned and how close he is to proving what really happened.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chance will have to make some tough choices soon, so stay tuned!
