The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, January 17, tease that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will launch an Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) investigation and push Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) to accept a new job. Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will also face some trauma backlash, so let’s talk about what’s ahead in Genoa City.
First on Monday’s Y&R episode, Victor will push Michael to seriously consider his job offer.
Victor will once again recruit Michael to step up as Newman Media’s legal counsel, but he’ll also think bigger and set out to protect his entire Newman legacy.
Now that Ashland is recovering from his cancer, Victor will have concerns. He’ll feel like he needs to do some investigating and protect himself just in case.
Victor will want Michael to come on board and help, so Michael will rise to the challenge now that he’s decided to retire as GC’s district attorney.
That’ll lead to looking into the truth about Ashland’s health and could spark some serious questions about his miraculous recovery.
In the meantime, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will get updates on Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) sneaky plans and question why she wants to acquire Newman Media so badly.
Adam will no doubt think this is more about a personal vendetta than becoming a communications powerhouse at Newman-Locke.
Victoria had better watch out since Adam will deliver an ominous warning to his sister as well as Ashland within the next few episodes.
This might give Victor and Adam an opportunity to find common ground since they’ll both be looking closely at Ashland, who hasn’t been as honest as he’d have everyone believe!
At the Chancellor mansion, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will continue to reel over Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) decision to legally pursue shared custody rights.
Abby will feel like Devon is way out of bounds and completely ignoring his original goal to help her build a family with Chance.
Although Abby will suggest Devon is slamming their parenting skills, Devon will believe this is about what’s doing best for Dominic.
Devon won’t think Chance is in a good place psychologically and will worry about it taking a toll on the boy.
Of course, Abby would be smart to point out that Dominic also has a loving mother, a skilled nanny, doting grandparents and tons of extended family members who are willing to pitch in. There’s plenty of love and support in Dominic’s life.
Abby will think Chance should be cut some slack after everything he’s been through and will feel like he’s getting the hang of being a dad.
Abby won’t want Devon trying to steal Chance’s bonding time with Dominic or acting like he’s some sort of dangerous threat.
Nevertheless, Devon will stand his ground and turn this into a major court battle if he has to.
As for Chance, he’ll struggle with self-doubt and suggest Devon’s concerns are valid on some level.
This custody mess will definitely put Abby and Devon’s friendship in jeopardy, so don’t miss what’s coming up.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say some shockers and shakeups are still to come in Dominic’s custody storyline, so stay tuned.
