The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, January 31 Recap – Sally Pushes Adam to Overthrow Victoria – Chelsea’s Bio Mom Story

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, January 31, teases that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will essentially push Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to overthrow Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) – and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will share a bio mom story with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). Here’s how things will play out on Monday’s Y&R episode.

On the Crimson Lights patio, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will tell Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) that maybe he made a mistake by backing away from his company at his lowest point.

Ashland will also think Nate’s looking for a challenge and will pitch the idea of expanding Ask MD Now with Nate in charge.

Nate won’t really be a corporate guy, but Ashland will push him to give it some thought. He’ll assure Nate that the offer will always be there.

In Adam’s office, Victoria will gloat over being the one to tell her brother about the sale of Newman Media.

Victoria will make it clear that she’s the Newman in charge now and will want to take the measurements behind Adam’s desk for her decorator.

Adam will push Victoria to do that some other time, so she’ll leave him alone to call Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Before she goes, Victoria will act like she can be a great mentor to Adam now that she’s his boss.

Afterward, Adam will confront Victor at the ranch, but Victor will argue that he doesn’t need Adam’s approval since business is business.

Victor will try to sell Adam on what a wonderful opportunity it will be running both Newman Media and ChancComm under the Newman-Locke umbrella.

Adam will complain about not being included in this decision, but Victor will argue that Adam can stay on or quit.

Either way, Newman Media will be sold to Newman Locke. Victor will advise Adam to make his choice and will add that he needs an answer soon.

Back at the coffeehouse, Victoria will get updates on Ashland’s offer to Nate and will gripe about not being consulted first.

Ashland will argue that he can’t come running to Victoria for permission over every little thing.

Besides, Ashland will point out that Victoria has been leaving him out of the loop on decisions, too.

Victoria will contend that the Adam situation may be a non-issue. After speaking with Adam and seeing how angry he was, Victoria won’t think he’ll be willing to work for his sister.

At Society, Sally will grumble over Chelsea cutting her out of all the New York fashion videos.

Chelsea will argue that those interviews were supposed to be about the designers, “not the Sally show.”

Chelsea won’t think their brand should be about one person and will basically tell Sally to drop the ego.

At the Chancellor mansion, Chance will surprise Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) with a breakfast tray and a flower.

Abby will admit to not getting that much sleep since Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Wilson) was born.

Chance will feel like they were both able to recharge their batteries a bit and spend some time together.

Abby will decide maybe that’s a healthy way of looking at their new arrangement.

Even so, Abby will worry about Chance’s trauma and will feel like maybe he needs to talk to a therapist.

Chance won’t be keen on opening up to a stranger and will announce that he’s changed his mind about going back to work.

Abby won’t like that plan, but she’ll be willing to get on board if Chance feels it’ll help bring stability.

Next, Chance will bump into Chelsea at Society and offer to show her some Dominic photos since he has some now.

Chance will also admit that Dominic is with his other dad, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James).

Once Chelsea hears about the shared custody agreement, she’ll acknowledge that it’s complicated.

Chelsea will relate since she’s Johnny Abbott’s (Holden and Ryan Hare) biological mother.

Chelsea will open up to Chance about how she’ll always have affection for Johnny.

That said, Chelsea will feel like she wasn’t ready to make that kind of commitment back then.

Chance will point out that Chelsea’s situation is a little different since she stepped aside for the sake of the child.

Devon couldn’t step aside, so Chelsea will get that it’s hard watching someone else raise your kid.

After Chelsea notes that she was never another mother to Johnny, Chance will wonder if she thinks all this will be too complicated for Dominic.

However, Chelsea will offer reassurance and will feel like Chance is putting Dom first.

Back at the coffeehouse, Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) will convince Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) to take her on a trip to look at her top universities.

Sharon will remind Faith that GCU is also a good option and subtly try to keep Faith close to home.

Next, Abby will summon Sharon to the Chancellor mansion to express concern over Chance’s issues.

After Abby explains her fears, she’ll wonder if Sharon thinks Chance should be in therapy.

Sharon won’t feel comfortable weighing in without Chance present.

Sharon will urge Abby to keep doing what she’s doing and will warn that Chance has to want professional help for the process to be effective.

Once Chance meets up with Rey, he’ll admit he wants to come back on the force.

Rey will ask what changed, so Chance will acknowledge that maybe the shared custody drama was part of it.

Regardless, Chance will want to get back to normal – and normal for him is working.

Rey will fret over Chance facing danger and traumatic events on the job, but Chance will stand by the idea that it’ll be good for him.

If Chance can save even one life, he’ll think maybe it’ll make up for some of the ones he lost.

Later, Rey will talk to Sharon about Chance’s desire to return to work. He’ll worry it’s too soon, so Sharon will admit that Abby is worried about Chance as well.

After Chance makes it home, he’ll thank Abby for being supportive.

The nanny will bring Dominic back from his overnight stay at Devon’s penthouse, so Abby will hold Dom and smile over her happy little family being back together.

At Newman Media again, Adam will drop the Newman Media sale bomb on Chelsea and Sally. Chelsea will argue that Adam can’t just roll over.

Abby will want Adam to stand up to Victor, but Adam will want a second to process what happened.

Chelsea will then notice that Sally doesn’t seem as surprised as she should.

Sally will act like she’s just flabbergasted into silence, but Chelsea will remain skeptical.

Chelsea will also suggest Adam doesn’t seem as shocked as he should be, but she’ll soon turn her attention to giving Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) the news.

Once Sally is alone with Adam, she’ll urge him to consider all the resources he’ll have at Newman-Locke.

Sally will act like this is really a promotion and could perhaps lead to a way to control Victoria.

Adam will get that Sally’s saying he should stay at Newman Media and run it his way.

Adam will wonder why Sally’s pushing so hard for this, but Sally will act like she’s just being a friend and giving helpful advice.

Sally will contend that a distracted Victoria could give Adam the opportunity to turn his role into something much bigger.

Adam will note that Sally’s idea is an intriguing one, so she’ll ask if Adam’s going to stay at Newman Media.

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest Adam may take Sally’s words to heart and plot to overthrow Victoria, so stay tuned to Y&R!
