The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, July 25, teases that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will seemingly kill Ashland Locke (Robert Newman), but the body will vanish. There’ll be a mystery after Ashland’s bloody fall, so here’s what Y&R has coming up.
Outside Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) house, Nick will call her phone and push his sister to let him know she’s safe.
In the living room, Victoria will lie that the call is from the security detail that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) assigned.
After Victoria says they’ll be over there in a hurry if she doesn’t answer, Ashland will insist they’ll have to make this quick.
Once Ashland goes on a tirade about Victoria’s lies and deception, he’ll contend that it doesn’t matter who started it.
Ashland will think he should’ve let Victoria die in that burning car since at least he might believe she loved him to the bitter end.
Although Ashland will suggest Victoria fell for a younger, stronger version of her father, Victoria will disagree and hurl insults at her ex.
When Victoria shouts that no one could ever love Ashland, he’ll attack her – forcing Victoria to grab a fireplace poker to defend herself.
Nick will barge in through the back moments later and warn Ashland to get away from Victoria.
After Ashland argues that he’s done nothing wrong, Victoria will counter that he broke into her house, threatened her and grabbed her.
Nick will fume over Ashland putting his hands on Victoria and will grab him before throwing a punch, so the blow will knock Ashland to the floor.
After Ashland hits his head on the fireplace, Nick won’t be able to find a pulse.
Neither will Victoria, who’ll show Nick some blood on her hand after touching Ashland’s wound.
Once Nick realizes Ashland is dead, he’ll panic and push Victoria to call the authorities.
Victoria won’t be sure that’s the right move and will suggest calling Victor, but Nick will argue that it was a clear-cut case of self-defense.
However, Victoria won’t know if the district attorney’s office will see it the same way.
Nick will finally tell Victoria to call Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) since he’s family and will know what to do.
While Nick is getting some air, Victoria will contact Chance with news of an accident involving Ashland – though she’ll insist there’s no need for an ambulance.
Since Victoria would prefer to keep this within the family for now, she’ll get Chance to come over to the house right away.
Once Victoria finds Nick outside, he’ll be all worked up over what he just did.
Nick will insist he didn’t want Ashland to die, so Victoria will reiterate that it was an accident.
Although it won’t feel that simple to Nick, he’ll know he needs to calm down and work on what he’s going to say when Chance comes.
Nick will insist he needs to walk this off, so he’ll move further away from the house and leave Victoria chasing after him.
Since Nick will remain upset, Victoria will argue that he saved her life tonight.
“Did I?” Nick will ask in response. No matter the circumstances, Nick took a man’s life and will point out no there’s no changing that.
Victoria will counter that Nick did what he had to do and will vow to help him now. Once Victoria and Nick return inside, the back doors will be rattling.
Nick will secure them before realizing Ashland’s body is now missing.
Only a pool of Ashland’s blood will remain, so that’ll leave a baffled Nick blurting out, “What the hell?!”
At The Grand Phoenix, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will delight Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) with a plan to get rid of Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).
Phyllis will think they should orchestrate it so that it appears Diane is intentionally sabotaging Marchetti.
That way, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and especially Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will lose faith in Diane – hopefully causing Diane to leave town.
Nikki will point out that they need someone on the inside, so Phyllis will mention Summer previously offered her a Marchetti job in Milan.
After Nikki suggests telling Summer that she changed her mind, Phyllis will act like something could perhaps be arranged.
At the Abbott house, Diane will show up looking for Kyle and Summer, but they’ll be out for the evening.
After Diane decides Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) can help instead, she’ll have big-picture questions about the protocol at Jabot and long-term goals.
Jack will act like all of this is rather rudimentary for someone like Diane, who can bluff her way through a hundred different scenarios.
Diane will ask if Jack is teasing her or being deliberately mean, so he’ll smile and suggest he’ll never tell.
After Jack agrees to give Diane guidance, he’ll also offer a drink. Diane will accurately guess what Jack is drinking, so he’ll think she knows him well.
Once Diane talks about not wanting to let Kyle down, Jack will reassure her.
Diane will mention how she can’t rely on her old bag of tricks anymore, so Jack will have a question about that old bag.
Jack will ask if there’s a trick in there where Diane shows up asking for Kyle’s advice when she really wants Jack’s.
Diane will grin and reply that she’ll never tell, so there’ll be a flirty vibe going on.
However, Jack will dial that down when he points out that his restraint with Diane isn’t for her benefit.
After Diane admits she made a bet with herself about being friends with Jack again, she’ll wonder what the odds are that she can pull it off.
Jack will rather coldly suggest that Diane doesn’t want to know.
Nevertheless, Jack will let Diane peek in on a sleeping Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez), so that’ll bring some bonding over their grandson.
By the time Jack shows Diane out, the conversation will be pleasant and light once more.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will keep working hard to win Jack over, so stay tuned.
