The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, May 16, reveals that Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will have a missing wedding dress crisis while Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) have an awkward first meeting.
At the cottage on Monday’s Y&R episode, Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) will lead a toast for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and insist she’ll take care of everything on her sister’s big day.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will bring out some pre-wedding gifts, so Mariah will get a bracelet that belonged to Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) as her something old and some special toe rings as her something new.
A handkerchief that belonged to Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) grandmother will serve as Mariah’s something borrowed – and for something blue, Faith will hand over a calming blue stone that she’s carried through some tough times.
At Crimson Lights, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will praise the space Noah designed for the wedding before talk turns to whether Noah is over Tessa.
Noah will admit that his feelings were more about his breakup in London and that he knew nothing was going to happen with Tessa, so it felt safe to long for her. Although Noah will accept love if it comes, he won’t be looking for it and will want to just enjoy his life.
Nick will admit that walking Cassie’s sister down the aisle is stirring up a lot of emotions, but he’ll know that Cassie would be thrilled for Mariah.
Meanwhile, Tessa will get her glam on at the apartment, but she’ll confess to Crystal Porter (Morgan Obenreder) that her wedding dress delivery hasn’t arrived yet.
After receiving Mariah’s text to look in a hidden box, Tessa will find some cheesy heart cards. Mariah will also get a message about Tessa’s card in her overnight bag, so the two of them will flirt via text and prepare to wed.
Seeing the strong love between Mariah and Tessa will give Crystal hope that she’ll find someone special one day.
As the dress delay continues, Tessa will start to freak out. Thankfully, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will show up with both the bridal gown and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart).
“What? You weren’t worried, were you?” Chloe will ask after seeing the relieved look on Tessa’s face.
At the Abbott house, a newly ordained Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will talk to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about compartmentalizing all his mom drama. Kyle will just want to concentrate on Mariah and Tessa’s wedding.
At The Grand Phoenix, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will spot Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) getting off the elevator and wonder what she’s even still doing in town. Diane will make her usual “I’ve changed” speech and will hold out hope that Kyle will forgive her in time.
When Diane suggests she’s starting to win Jack over too, Phyllis will warn her to “stay the hell away” from him. Diane will find that extreme, so she’ll grow curious about the true state of Phyllis’ relationship with Jack.
After all the trauma and betrayals, Diane will find it tough to imagine there’s anything romantic left between Jack and Phyllis.
“I can’t imagine that you would think you had a shot in hell with Jack,” Phyllis will fire back – leading Diane to point out that Phyllis neither confirmed nor denied her relationship status.
As Jack shows up, he’ll find Phyllis bickering with Diane and ask if there’s a problem. Diane will talk about sticking around since Kyle didn’t return to Milan after all, but Jack will warn her to give Kyle the time and space he needs.
After Jack sends Diane on her way, she’ll end up irritating Kyle at the Abbott mansion. Kyle will explain that he stayed in town for his best friend’s wedding and will rush off since he’s running late to officiate it.
As for Jack, he’ll convince Phyllis to stop obsessing over Diane and her plans. When Jack asks Phyllis to accompany him to Mariah and Tessa’s wedding, she’ll gladly accept.
At the coffeehouse again, Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will stop by with Allie, who’ll meet Noah and eventually Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd).
That’ll bring some awkwardness as Noah’s jokes fail to land – and he’ll respond with an “ouch” when Allie turns down his offer to take her back to the Abbott house.
However, Allie will smile and insist she simply wants to walk. It’ll serve as Allie’s chance to get to know Genoa City and soak it in.
At Top of The Tower later, the guests will be all dressed up in their ‘70s glam looks. Sharon will reunite with Crystal as they reflect on Rey’s amazing gift – and Kyle will also offer his condolences to Sharon.
Phyllis will ask about Summer Newman (Allison Lanier), but Kyle will admit that her flight’s been delayed and will let Faith take the lead on moving this wedding along.
After Faith offers an introduction for the “super funky couple,” Mariah will walk down the aisle with Nick while Tessa walks down with Sharon. Once Tessa and Mariah join hands, they’ll stand in front of Kyle as they get ready for their vows.
