The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, May 2 Recap – Victor’s Sneak Attack – Kyle Reacts to Diane’s Confession

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, May 2, reveals that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will plot a sneak attack while Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) reacts to Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) tearful confession.

At the Abbott house on Monday’s Y&R episode, Diane will note that it’s a dream come true to see Kyle after all these years.

Diane will admit to following Kyle in the press and on social media, but that’ll make all this worse in Kyle’s eyes.

Kyle will feel like Diane cared enough to watch from a distance, but not enough to want to reach out.

He’ll push Diane to tell him how she could fake her death and what excuse could possibly justify that.

Diane will insist she never stopped loving Kyle, but he’ll get angry over her shipping him off to boarding school in Switzerland and never coming for him like she promised.

After Diane talks about needing an escape, she’ll argue that she couldn’t ruin Kyle’s life by taking him on the run.

Diane won’t think life as a fugitive alongside her would’ve been good for Kyle. She’ll feel like letting Kyle have a stable life with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was the right call.

Kyle will still be upset over losing the mom he adored. He’ll point out that Jack never tried to tear Diane down or tarnish the memories he had.

Diane will be grateful, especially since she won’t think she deserved it. She’ll acknowledge how toxic she used to be and will rattled off a list of terrible traits.

Kyle will wonder how he’s supposed to believe Diane has changed, especially since she manipulated Jack and Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) with that plot in Los Angeles.

Diane will defend it as a gesture of goodwill and will talk about all the therapy that helped her work on herself.

As Diane cries, she’ll talk about being ashamed of who she was.

Diane will insist that she’s evolved and doesn’t want to be the same woman who caused so much chaos and hurt Kyle so badly.

Kyle will wipe away his own tears and ask what Diane wants from him.

Kyle will wonder if this is about getting forgiveness so Diane can move on or if Diane is looking for a place in his life.

Kyle won’t be sure he can offer that place and will refuse to bring turmoil into his world with Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez).

Diane will get that it’s too soon to talk about their future, but she’ll hope Kyle can contemplate forgiveness at some point.

Kyle will need some time to think everything over and won’t be able to commit to another meeting just yet.

Diane will understand and be thankful that Kyle was willing to hear her out.

At Crimson Lights, Jack will second-guess arranging Kyle and Diane’s reconnection.

Jack will know Kyle’s going to be vulnerable to her, but Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will think Jack did the right thing.

Jack will then consider the possibility that Diane has changed for the better, but Phyllis will give him a big “hell no” on that.

Phylis will get offended when Jack acts like some people might say Phyllis is incapable of change, too.

Phyllis will argue that she didn’t fake her death and let someone else pay for it like Diane did with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

After Jack backs off the idea of giving Diane the benefit of the doubt, Phyllis will warn him not to let his guard down.

Jack and Phyllis will return to the Abbott mansion right as Diane is leaving. Kyle will be overwhelmed following that emotional reunion, so he’ll decide to get some air.

Jack will assure Kyle that he’s there if his son needs him. Phyllis will pull Jack into a hug as he worries about how Kyle is holding up.

At the Chancellor mansion, Victor will stop by and learn from Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) had a heart attack on the road.

After Victor suggests he could tell Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) himself, he’ll hope for a visit with Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware).

While Abby is upstairs seeing if the baby’s awake, Victor will give Chance some advice about embracing life with his family.

It’ll leave Chance in good spirits later and will bring Chance’s promise to Abby that he won’t shut down like he did before.

When Diane returns to her hotel suite, she’ll get quite a shock.

Victor will sit smugly with his arms folded across the room and acknowledge that they’ve finally met again.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will have a warning for Diane soon, so stick with the CBS soap.
