The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, May 9 Recap – Victoria Takes Off Ashland’s Necklace – Abbott Vote Split on Diane

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, May 9, reveals that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will take off Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) necklace – and the Abbott vote will be split on changed Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).

At Crimson Lights, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will stop to pick up some baked goods as an apology since he’s going to be late to the Abbott family meeting.

Victoria will cross paths with Billy and end up chewing him out over his recent “Grinning Soul” podcast.

Billy will deny being involved and will act like it’s some guy out of California, but Victoria will know Billy was the one slamming Ashland.

When Billy wonders why Victoria cares, she’ll rant about him exploiting her private pain for his overblown ego.

Once Victoria makes it to her office, she’ll gaze at her new portrait and take off the necklace Ashland gave her.

Victoria will seem pensive as she hears Billy’s scathing words about Ashland replaying in her head.

At Society, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will discuss Diane as well as Ashland’s grand $250 million gesture.

Victor will hope Victoria makes it clear she’s done with Ashland so they can get him out of town.

After Nikki shows up in Victoria’s office with Victor, she’ll point out that Victoria took off the necklace Ashland gave her for Valentine’s Day.

That news will please Nikki, but Victoria will act like it’s just a piece of jewelry anyway.

Victoria will also thank Victor for the new portrait and for supporting her decision to make Nikki her co-CEO.

Victor will admit that he now sees it would’ve been premature to appoint Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) – and he’ll think Nikki’s going to make “hell of a team” with Victoria.

Once Victoria leaves, Victor and Nikki will fret over how Victoria is really holding up behind closed doors.

Nikki will know that Victoria is heartbroken and grieving the loss of the man she thought she loved.

At the Abbott mansion, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will start ranting about Diane’s past crimes, but Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will remind her that they’re supposed to be helping Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Diane will by happy to answer questions about why she ran away and what her life was like outside of Genoa City.

After Diane talks about hoping to prove she’s changed, Ashley will wonder why they should believe a word out of her mouth.

Diane will insist she’s not manipulating Kyle and doesn’t want anything but forgiveness.

Traci will push the others to hear Diane out, so Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will tell Diane that she has the floor.

After Diane makes a speech about changing her attitude and finding an amazing therapist, she’ll be bombarded with all kinds of questions.

Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) will act like Diane might be lying about even going to therapy and will ask when these sessions supposedly started.

Ashley will join Abby as they try to find out if Diane is still seeing the same therapist.

Abby will pipe up about wanting to see this woman’s credentials, but Traci will want to get back to the question of when the sessions started.

Diane will suggest that she’s been seeing this psychologist for about six years – give or take.

After Diane says things really got rolling four and a half years ago, there’ll be more doubts about whether Diane could transform her life in that length of time.

Ashley will want to see Diane’s bank statements, so Diane will note that she’s not wealthy but is self-sufficient.

Once Diane mentions the house she just bought, she’ll talk about having a life in LA and not coming to Genoa City out of desperation.

Diane will clarify that she came because she was ready to face the backlash and had something worth fighting for.

After Billy joins the conversation, Diane won’t know how much more there is to say.

As Diane wraps things up, she’ll speak to each Abbott individually about why they should have faith in her.

Diane will assure Abby that she has the same love for Kyle that Abby has for Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware).

All Diane will want is the chance to make things up to Kyle and be the mother he deserves.

Diane won’t see why any of the Abbotts would want to stand in the way of that.

As for what Diane wants, she won’t think she’s in the position to be making demands.

Diane will suggest she’d settle for a Christmas card once a year if that’s all Kyle is willing to give.

That said, Diane would love to be in Kyle’s life.

Abby will wonder if Diane intends to follow Kyle to Italy, so she’ll suggest that would be amazing – though she’ll be willing to plan accordingly if Kyle moves back to Genoa City.

Abby still won’t buy that Diane has changed, but Diane will maintain that she has.

“Just like you’re not going around naked on horseback anymore,” Diane will tell Abby on Monday’s Y&R episode.

Once Diane says she’ll make any necessary sacrifices for Kyle, she’ll contend that just being in the same room with him brings her joy.

Diane will give the Abbotts time to mull over what she said and will thank them for this chance.

After Diane is gone, Kyle will want everyone’s opinion on whether Diane has grown as a person.

Ashley will think that was an excellent performance, but she won’t find it a bit sincere.

Traci will counter that when Diane talks about her love for Kyle, she means it.

Jack and Kyle won’t feel like Diane’s love for Kyle is the issue. This is about whether Kyle can believe the rest of what his mother is saying.

Abby won’t think she can be objective, but she’ll admit she found it calculated when Diane brought up Dominic – just like the old Diane.

Billy, however, will suggest he’d give Diane another chance if he was in Kyle’s shoes.

In the end, Kyle will feel like he’s got two votes against Diane and two who think it’s slightly worth the risk.

After Kyle pushes Jack to be the tiebreaker, Jack will insist that only Kyle can make this decision.

Traci and Abby will agree with Jack on that, but Kyle still won’t know what he’s going to do.

Billy will joke about flipping a coin as someone shows up at the door.

A delighted Jack will open up to find Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) standing outside.

After Allie apologizes for just showing up like this, Jack will assure his granddaughter that she has excellent timing and should come meet her family.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack will introduce Allie to the rest of the Abbott clan soon, so stay tuned!

CDL will have other great Young and the Restless spoilers, news and updates, so check back often.
