The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the next two weeks, January 17 to January 28, tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will plot her next Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) scheme while Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) lie is exposed. Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) will also make a huge Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) decision, so here’s what fans can expect.
During the week of January 17-21, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will enlist Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) help in protecting the Newman legacy.
As part of that plan, Michael will investigate Ashland’s health and set the stage for some shockers.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will also make an unsettling discovery related to Ashland.
It’ll leave Nikki on edge over some compromising position and force Ashland to come up with answers – even if they’re just more lies for now!
After a fierce faceoff with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), Abby will realize he’s not backing down.
Abby will be ready to put up a serious fight in court, but Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will remain insecure about his ability to be a dad and will urge Abby to see things from Devon’s perspective.
Abby will remain determined to protect her family with Chance and Dominic, so she’ll turn to Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) for guidance.
Abby will ultimately make a significant decision, so we’ll see if she stands her ground or caves to Devon’s pressure.
As for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), it seems she may land on Devon’s side after he explains his push for shared custody.
Meanwhile, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will drop a bomb on Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) – perhaps related to her imminent marriage proposal.
Later, Tessa will romance Mariah and give her a night to remember. Mariah will struggle to even process what’s happening as Tessa gets down on one knee.
Tessa will ask Mariah to marry her, so Mariah’s answer should be an enthusiastic “yes!”
Over with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), he’ll spar with Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle) before dishing out a threat – one that applies to Ashland as well.
Adam will then make a deal with about the last person you’d expect. He’ll reach an agreement with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), so maybe a real truce is possible.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will have her first day on the job at Chancellor Industries, but being Billy’s boss could present more challenges than she expects.
Lily will serve as CEO while Billy serves as COO, so he’ll have to get used to letting her call the shots.
Speaking of calling shots, Victor will call some big ones eventually.
Victor will come up with a plan and make quite a power play, so this may involve some crucial moves after Ashland’s deception is discovered.
Since Ashland perhaps lied about his terminal illness from the get-go, Victor will have to take steps to deal with that and prevent another crisis.
As for Chelsea, she’ll make plans of her own and try to nail down what her future will look like.
Since Chelsea will target Sally once again, something tells us Chelsea won’t let go of Adam like he wants!
During the week of January 24-28, Y&R spoilers say Nikki will dish out a major warning. She may put Ashland on notice about what’ll happen if he breaks Victoria’s heart.
Michael will also revisit his roots, so that may involve his official decision to go back to work for Victor after all these years.
Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will get updates on that choice, so she may warn Michael to be careful – though she’ll be pleased to know he’s going to stay busy during retirement.
Michael just isn’t the kind of guy who wants to sit home and knit, so he’ll enjoy tackling this new challenge.
Victor will also negotiate a power deal, so it’ll be interesting to see who’s on the other end of it.
Could Victor team up with Adam against Ashland? That’s one option to consider.
However, Victor might instead go to Ashland himself and try to work out a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Victor won’t want to destroy Victoria’s world or his family legacy, so he may be willing to let Ashland’s terminal illness lie slide with the right agreement.
Of course, Victor’s stance won’t work for Adam if that’s the case! Adam will want to bring both Victoria and Ashland down, so we’ll see if he can make it happen.
Finally, Devon and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will tackle the next step together.
That could involve the custody battle if it moves forward, though it’s possible Abby will eventually back down to avoid putting Chance through a total nightmare.
