The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) messy romance could be brewing. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) could all end up outraged if Y&R takes this new romantic route, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
Sally fought hard to convince Adam that she wanted him more than the Newman Media CEO job, but he just wouldn’t budge.
It’s not fair for Adam to treat Sally so cruelly and take this decision out of her hands. That’s not what someone in a loving relationship with mutual respect should do.
Sally warned that Adam might realize his mistake after she’s already moved on – and then she immediately crossed paths with Nick at the coffeehouse.
The show set up a “misery loves company” situation that could be a hint about a romance between them.
In the July 28 episode, Nick urges Sally to rethink walking away from Newman Media because of Adam.
Although Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) advice is also a factor in Sally’s final decision, it’s interesting that the show’s letting Nick give Sally guidance and form a bond.
Considering how Phyllis has proved so tantalizing to Nick in the past, he could easily fall for Sally.
Why wouldn’t Nick like a feisty redhead with a can-do spirit – someone passionate, unpredictable and fun?
Sally is a lot like Phyllis, so she’s definitely Nick’s type. Although things didn’t work out between Nick and Phyllis, attraction certainly wasn’t the problem.
Of course, Nick and Sally’s romantic entanglement would cause all kinds of issues.
Adam would absolutely hate watching his brother end up in Sally’s bed or even in a real relationship with her.
Summer and Phyllis would also wonder what the heck Nick was thinking.
A Sally and Nick pairing wouldn’t go over well due to Sally’s treatment of Summer in the past, but the heart wants what it wants.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and plenty of others in Genoa City would have something to say about Nick’s involvement with Sally, too.
There’d be no shortage of complaints – and that’s exactly the kind of romance that brings great drama.
